Taiwan reported 35,322 new local cases today, which has been below 40,000 for four consecutive days since October 20; another 43 new cases of immigration from abroad and 65 deaths. Luo Yijun, deputy head of the medical response team of the Taiwan Epidemic "Command Center", said that the number of cases has dropped by 15% compared with last Sunday. If this trend remains unchanged, it is expected to leave the plateau period of the epidemic in the near future.
"Construction Center" stated that today's 35,322 new local cases were 16,338 males, 18,969 females, and 15 cases, ages between under 5 and over 90 years old. The number of cases was New Taipei City (6,441 cases), Taichung City (4,655 cases), Kaohsiung City (4,089 cases), Taoyuan City (3,541 cases), Taipei City (3,503 cases), Tainan City (292 5 cases), Changhua County (1925 cases), Pingtung County (1044 cases), Hsinchu County (869 cases), Yunlin County (867 cases), Hsinchu City (839 cases), Miaoli County (786 cases), Nantou County (704 cases), Chiayi County (654 cases), Yilan County (648 cases), Keelung City (504 cases), Chiayi City (442 cases), Hualien County (397 cases), Taitung County (215 cases), Kinmen County (169 cases), Penghu County (96 cases), Mazu (9 cases).
"Construction Center" pointed out that 65 new local deaths today were 42 males and 23 females, aged between 5 and over 90 years old, all of which were severe infections, 58 cases had a history of chronic diseases, and 40 cases had not received more than three doses of vaccine. The date of diagnosis is from September 5 to October 20, today (2022), and the date of death is from October 2 to October 20.
The "Command Center" said that among the 43 new cases of overseas migration today, 18 males and 25 females, aged between 5 and 80 years old, they moved from mainland China (3 cases), Singapore and Indonesia (2 cases each), the United States, Canada and Malaysia (1 case each), and the other 33 infected countries and regions were investigated. The entry date is from September 22 to October 21 this year.
The "Command Center" statistics show that as of now, there are 7.45158 confirmed cases in Taiwan, with 36,051 migration from abroad respectively, 7.414,053 local cases, 36 Dunmu Fleet, 3 aircraft infections, 1 unknown and 14 investigations.
Since 2020, a total of 12,323 deaths have been reported, of which 12,306 are local. The number of counties and cities inhabited is 2,530 in New Taipei City, 1,388 in Taipei City, 1,270 in Taichung City, 1,153 in Kaohsiung City, 938 in Taoyuan City, 912 in Tainan City, 687 in Changhua County, 493 in Pingtung County, 380 in Nantou County and Yunlin County, 340 in Miaoli County, 310 in Chiayi County, 274 in Keelung City, 263 in Yilan County, 213 in Hualien County, 203 in Hsinchu County, 198 in Chiayi City, 173 in Taitung County, 141 in Hsinchu City, 34 in Penghu County, and 26 in Kinmen County; the other 17 cases are immigration from abroad.
