As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to advance, life for the "International Legion" is becoming increasingly difficult. The Russian army not only intensified its attacks on it, but also directly sentenced two British prisoners to death. These foreign soldiers also began to slowly wake up. Going to Ukraine to participate in the war was far from as good as they imagined, especially compared with the Afghan campaign, it was like heaven and earth. There are many American veterans who have participated in the Afghanistan campaign in the "International Corps", and they now unanimously believe that the experience of fighting in Afghanistan is of no use on the Russian-Ukrainian battlefield.
At the beginning, the US military had great advantages in Afghanistan . Both in terms of combat effectiveness and combat conditions, they far surpassed Ukraine. At that time, the U.S. military slept in air-conditioned barracks every day. After waking up, they drank a cup of coffee, and then could choose hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and other foods. After breakfast, get on the military vehicle and rush to the front line. You can sleep for a long time on the way. There is no need to fight hard when you arrive at the combat location. You can just straf and fire a few rockets to complete the combat mission. Not even a single enemy soldier was killed.
For the US military at that time, fighting was simply not easy, and their daily pleasure was to grab a civilian and disguise it as the result of the battle, with extremely cruel methods. During the years of fighting in Afghanistan, the US military suffered less than 15 casualties each year. This is enough to show how leisurely it fought, so that many US troops thought this was a normal battlefield. After arriving in Ukraine, they realized how wrong they were. There were no burgers, no coffee, and no air conditioning. They only had field rations, but they couldn't eat them every day.
If the supply line is cut off by the Russian army, they can only eat 2 potatoes. In addition, there is a serious shortage of combat equipment. The Ukrainian army does not care about the life and death of these foreign soldiers and will not cooperate with them in fighting. These foreign soldiers had no choice but to find their own equipment and supplies to fight. As a result, they either died in battle or were captured, and many of them fled directly. The battle with the Russian army was also extremely difficult. Regardless of combat quality or equipment, the "International Legion" could not compete with the Russian army. Under such circumstances, American veterans began to miss their war experience in Afghanistan while drinking coffee and blowing on the air conditioner.
There is no comparison between the two. More than one captured foreign soldier publicly stated that he must think twice before coming to fight in Ukraine. It is far from being as good as imagined. They were all deceived by the West. Western countries continue to emphasize the justice of fighting in Ukraine, but they do not rescue the soldiers after they are captured. It can be seen that foreign soldiers are just their tools. These soldiers began to reflect after being captured and made prisoners by the Russian army, but unfortunately they no longer had the chance. What awaited them was a death sentence. Other foreign soldiers are advised to leave Ukraine as soon as possible, otherwise they will be buried in Ukraine sooner or later.
