In 1968, Wang Zhongxin was born in a poor family in Xiuning, Anhui Province. He did not go to elementary school until he was 10 years old.

After receiving the support of his parents, when he graduated from junior high school at the age of 18, Wang Zhongxin signed up for the military inspection and passed the military inspection, starting his military career.
Before leaving, his father told him: "Zhongzi, Mingzi, the eldest son of the old Li family in Qiaotou, has become the deputy squad leader in the team. You work hard and become a regular man!"

In the early days of joining the army, Wang Zhongxin was assigned to a certain unit of the former Second Artillery Corps. For recruits of the Second Artillery Corps, circuit diagrams and actual operations were "two big mountains."
In 1991, his term of service expired, and according to the arrangements of his superiors, he retired. He had no choice but to return to his hometown. After he retired from the army, he missed his life in the military camp very much. He missed that time very much and was reluctant to leave. Because of his excellent results and performance in the past, the leader of the army wanted to train him into a technical talent, so he recommended him to the Second Artillery Corps Qingzhou Non-Commissioned Officer School.
After graduating from the military academy, Wang Zhongxin happened to catch up with the change of military equipment and was transferred to the missile measurement and control position.
"Measurement and control is a 'full physical examination' of the missile, involving more than 20 disciplines such as high-energy physics, microelectronics, and thousands of command commands and operating actions. I was really confused at first." He recalled.
Wang Zhongxin decided to start from the basic theory. In the end, he knew a certain type of missile well and became the measurement and control squad leader.
Later, Wang Zhongxin was able to perform his first live ammunition launch measurement and control. He was very nervous, but the movements in his hands were not affected at all. He executed all operations perfectly skillfully.
With a loud noise, the missile ignited and took off. Watching the behemoth that carried the blood and sweat of countless people gradually disappear from sight, Wang Zhongxin even forgot to breathe. His heart was filled with an indescribable sense of sacredness and pride.

Wang Zhongxin thought of the training he received from the army and the missile career he cared about and loved. He did not hesitate to put on his military uniform and returned to the military camp to continue serving.
In the same year, he was promoted to the fourth period of sergeant and had two thick rings on his shoulders.
