In fact, according to the current offensive method of the Russian army, since 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers can be captured, even if they rejoin the Ukrainian army, the Russian army can capture them alive once and a second time. More importantly, having some Ukrainian minions in hand will do no good to the Russian army.
As long as the big shots are in its own hands, Russia will still have bargaining chips with NATO countries including the United States. Even many Western countries dare not be too arrogant.
