In 1923, Yang Jingyu was admitted to the junior class of Henan Provincial First Industrial School. At that time, it was during the first period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and the Northern Expeditionary Army marched all the way to Henan. In order to cooperate with the Northern Expedition, the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China sent Yang Jingyu back to Queshan County to serve as the president of the County Farmers Association. He resolutely dropped out of school and returned to his hometown to engage in the work of organizing and launching the peasant movement.

At that time, the Agricultural Cooperative only had swords and spears, but no guns, so it was very difficult to carry out its work. Yang Jingyu had an idea and devised a plan to lure a soldier from the warlord's army out, then suddenly rushed forward and grabbed the gun alone. When the soldier chased him, Yang Jingyu took out the silver coins he had prepared and threw them behind him, saying, "This is your travel expenses." The soldier deserted after getting the money, and the Queshan County Agricultural Cooperative got its first gun. In 1936, Yang Jingyu formed the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces in Northeast China. He led his troops to fight in the Northeast for a long time, constantly attacking the Japanese and puppet troops, and shocking the Northeast. However, he incurred the hatred of the enemy and even more crazy "crusades".

In order to solve the problem of army supplies, Yang Jingyu ordered the main force of the army to go north and led a small force to the east. In the end, there were only 7 soldiers around him, and 4 were wounded. Therefore, Yang Jingyu ordered the four people to be transferred. Later, he sent two guards down the mountain to look for food, but the two soldiers were killed by the Japanese and puppet troops. The Japanese invaders found Yang Jingyu's seal from the body and estimated that he was on a nearby mountain, so they stepped up their efforts to block all roads.

In the afternoon of the next day, Yang Jingyu could not wait for the soldiers and understood everything. He went alone to the roadside in Sandaoweizi and met several firewood collectors. At this time, he still abided by the party's discipline and did not take any needle or thread from the masses. He gave a firewood collector some money and asked him to help him buy some. Food and cotton shoes. Among these people collecting firewood, one of them was the "captain" of the Puppet Manchukuo, and he reported it when he returned to the village. The "punitive team" quickly arrived and surrounded Yang Jingyu, who was no longer able to run, in a small forest. Yang Jingyu decided to fight to the death with the enemy. After several hours of fierce fighting, he was shot in the vital part by the enemy's machine gun and died heroically for his country.

After Yang Jingyu was killed in battle, the brutal Japanese army could not understand how this heroic hero could be surrounded by ice and snow for a long time and still fight tenaciously without food supply. The Japanese cut his head open and found that his belly was full of dead grass, bark and cotton, not a single millet ! The cruel intruder was shocked and captivated. Ryuichiro Kishitani, who killed Yang Jingyu, specially held a "soul memorial service" for Yang Jingyu. He committed suicide on the eve of Japan's surrender.

In order to safeguard the interests of the country and the nation, Yang Jingyu was not tempted by high-ranking Japanese military officials, and his loyalty to the motherland was truly "preferring to die rather than kneel." His courage to face difficulties and his unyielding attitude of struggle; he relied on straw and cotton to fill his stomach and fought to the death, setting up an immortal monument in the hearts of millions of people. Although Yang Jingyu died in the battle, his name has been circulated in the land of China for many years, and his heroic soul will always be engraved in the hearts of the people.
