Zhao Lijian said that last month the Group of Seven foreign ministers meeting issued a negative communique related to China, and China immediately responded clearly. However, the Group of Seven countries ignored China's solemn position and firm opposition and once again used the summit communiqué to promote the narrative of democracy versus authoritarianism, grossly interfered in China's internal affairs, attacked and discredited China, and incited confrontation. This fully shows that the Group of Seven has no intention of carrying out dialogue and cooperation on the basis of equality and respect. Instead, it adheres to the Cold War mentality, adheres to ideological bias, and engages in group politics based on the interests of small circles.
Zhao Lijian stated that Hong Kong affairs are purely China’s internal affairs. In the 325 years since Hong Kong returned to China, the democratic rights and freedoms enjoyed by Hong Kong residents in accordance with the law have been fully protected. The Chinese government governs Hong Kong in accordance with the Constitution of the People's Republic of China and the Basic Law of Hong Kong. These countries have their own bad records on human rights. They have no qualifications to serve as human rights teachers, and they have no right to use human rights as a political tool to interfere in other countries' internal affairs.
