Yesterday (28th), a draft new security decree containing a package of immigration policies was submitted to the Italian Council of Ministers for review.

draft limits and stipulates the number of rescues and rescue procedures for all NGO ships, and sets different levels of sanctions for ships that carry out illegal rescues, including detaining ships for 20-60 days, confiscating ships, and imposing fines ranging from 10,000 euros to 50,000 euros for violators.

At the same time, the new draft law also puts forward new regulatory requirements for baby gangs (ie, youth mafia), violent crimes against women, and the use of police stun guns. For example, the urban deportation order (Daspo Urbano) regulations in some areas will be extended to minors over the age of 14; the application scenarios and regional scope of police stun guns will be further expanded; the supervision and punishment of those who commit violence against women will be strengthened.
