In recent years, I have come into contact with many high-end talents who run immigration: Tsinghua doctor, Peking University doctor, associate professors from 985/211 colleges, presidents of foreign companies in Shanghai, senior executives of the head office of state-owned banks, etc., and so on.

These people are doing well in China and naturally think that they will do well in their lives when they go abroad, but in fact, they are not. In real life, these people I met:

Doctor of Tsinghua University can't even apply for a temporary visa;

Doctor of Peking University has become a well-known Chinese scammer in Toronto ;

Associate Professor backfired, and even the basic integrity threshold of Western countries did not meet the standards;

The president of a foreign company in Shanghai can only be limited to foreign companies in China. It can be said that nothing is coming out, and he still can't find a job in mainstream society;

executives of state-owned banks have failed to pass the most basic language barriers on time;

...

I can say that there are three days and three nights like this.

I remember that before going abroad, a friend who returned home after he couldn't make a living abroad made a classic summary:

is good at doing well in China, but may not be good at going abroad;

is not good at doing well in China, but may not be good at going abroad.

After encountering so many actual cases, I think about it now, there is some truth.

Let me tell you why I advise these high-end talents not to go abroad. The reasons are as follows (personal opinions, please do not criticize if you don’t like it): In terms of the general direction, the motherland has cultivated you, especially the doctoral students and professors from Tsinghua University and Peking University. You have the highest education in China and should use what you have learned to repay your motherland. It’s nothing to go abroad to visit and see the world, but for those high-end talents who are visiting to study, the main purpose is to immigrate. I advise you not to expect Western countries to give you the same treatment according to the standards in China;

  • has learned the highest education in China, and it is not necessarily recognized when you go abroad. It is highly likely that you will have to start over again. I met someone who graduated from a prestigious Chinese university with a doctorate who later studied for four years in , the University of Toronto , for the sake of immigration. Like a fool in life, his way of thinking and doing things is very strange. He is regarded as a weird thing abroad, but in the end he can only do the most basic work to make a living;
  • Some people are doctoral students in liberal arts in China, such as doctoral students studying philosophy and sociology. They are not well-versed in language abroad and their lives are very painful. I have met a doctorate in liberal arts at Tsinghua University . I worked in a restaurant and had no legal status with my wife. I was hacked in Canada;
  • also has some lawyers, doctors, accountants, and financial planners... This is a very professional field. Due to the different systems of China and Western countries (the default is that everyone wants to remove more developed countries), the previous certificates will hardly be recognized (if you have various certifications, it is better to take the exam again). Even if you get a local license, you are not very popular. For example: I have met too many Chinese lawyers in Canada, and the best ones I do are actually related to China. Therefore, as a client who needs legal services, our company always hires local lawyers (native language is English or French), and never invites lawyers from other countries who have moved over halfway.

    Of course, the most important thing is to say a thousand words is mentality. In a simple sentence: You know and understand in China, but it may not work in other countries. Especially those senior intellectuals and experts who are unwilling to decline themselves, arrogant and self-deserving greatness, and do not want to descend from the altar, so stay in the small base on the altar for the rest of their lives. Don’t feel unhappy in the fields outside the altar!
