- allocate an additional 4,700 positions for the health care sector;
- additional 6,100 positions for workers with "skills required to provide important infrastructure";
- allocate 6,800 positions for the technology industry.
Another 5,000 places will be allocated to businesses to provide guarantees for employees with permanent visas, reflecting Albany’s statement this week regarding the shifting focus from temporary immigration to permanent immigration and future citizenship.
