District Office Destatis revealed that Germany's residents exceeded 84 million for the first time.

The federal Office of Immigration and Refugees said the country has registered 17,216 follow-up applications, accounting for 12.9% of all applications registered as of August 2022.
“A total of 132,618 people applied for asylum in Germany (115,402 first applications and 17,216 follow-up applications) between January 2022 and August 2022. This means an increase of 35.4% compared to the same period last year (85,230 first applications),” the statement from the Federal Office for Immigration and Refugees read.
