The Australian Immigration Bureau recently announced the benefits of Australia’s 485 graduate work visa, involving legislative details on compensation policies and some preferential policies, which will be officially implemented on July 1, 2022.
According to the new bill, the replacement visa (Replacement visa) for the Australian 485 work visa will be implemented from the new fiscal year. The length of the compensation visa will remain the same as the original 485 visa length, and will be provided to all those who currently hold or have previously held the 485 visa. Australian immigration lawyers have sorted out the specific details of Australia’s 485 compensation visa as follows:
- Applications need to be submitted before July 1, 2022 to January 1, 2027;
- Applicants can submit at home or abroad, or they can apply at home or abroad. Obtained a visa overseas;
- Applicants must hold or have held a 485 visa (first time visa), be the main applicant for the first 485 visa, and obtain the first 485 visa before December 15, 2021 (Effective on and after February 1, 2020);
- - If the applicant is overseas when the first 485 visa is approved, and has entered Australia and left Australia again during the validity period of the visa, Both exit and entry occurred before December 15, 2021;
- - If the applicant is in Australia when the first 485 visa is approved, the applicant must meet the requirements between February 1, 2020 and December 2021. The person was outside Australia at any time between March 14th;
Compensation visa also retains the qualifications for graduates from remote areas to renew. After graduates from remote areas obtain the 485 compensation visa, if they continue to work and live in remote areas , you are still eligible to apply for a 1-2 year extension of the 485 visa (category 2 remote areas for one year, category 3 remote areas for 2 years).

- has held a student visa in the past 6 months and has graduated no more than 6 months ago;
- has an academic qualification related to a nominated occupation on the long-term occupation list and passed a career assessment (based on New Deal 22-23 fiscal year can be exempted from the requirement);
- in Australia or abroad (there are special exemptions during the epidemic);
- IELTS total score of 6 points, 5 points in each subject, or other equivalent English scores recognized by the Immigration Bureau;
