This is a terrible moment: A 40-year-old woman was attacked "unprovoked" at a New York subway station --- when a subway train was coming, she was pushed under the platform by a 24-year-old man. Almost run over by a train.
Thursday (November 19) at about 8:45, a 40-year-old woman was waiting at Union Square Station on the New York City Subway. At the time she was standing on the edge of the platform when a subway train was coming, suddenly, 24 years old. The homeless man Aditya Vemulapati (Aditya Vemulapati) suddenly ran over and pushed him under the platform from behind. Several passengers around saw this scene in horror and were terrified. Witnesses said that they saw Vimurapati pacing on the platform, muttering to herself, and then suddenly pushed the woman from behind when the train entered the station.
It can be seen from the surveillance video that the woman fell onto the rails after being "unprovoked" attack and was trapped under the train. The New York subway had to turn off the power supply to rescue her. She was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. Fortunately, she only suffered life-threatening injuries --- she was spared because she happened to be lying on two railroad tracks when she fell. Time, so only the head was injured, but the body was not crushed.
Police quickly arrested Aditya Vimurapati and charged him with attempted murder and assault. Sarah Feinberg, interim chairman of New York City Transportation, said in an interview with the media, “This city has a mental health crisis, and people are eager for spiritual care.”
