This is not the first time a journalist has been killed in Mexico. According to a report by local Mexican media on September 9, a Mexican journalist in Mexico was beheaded in a remote area. He was mainly responsible for reporting crime and violence-related news during his lifetime. The prosecutor stated that the journalist was tortured during his lifetime and was then beheaded by the attacker.
Currently, Guanajuato, Mexico has established a state government agency specifically responsible for dealing with threats and violence against journalists. The committee issued a statement saying that although since 2018, they have handled 30 cases of journalists assaulted. The
committee stated: “We swear that this kind of incident will not happen again in Guanajuato. We call on the authorities to work with us to end this disturbing situation.”
