During the conflict at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on November 18, 2019, violent incidents also occurred in many places in Kowloon . On New Year's Day, 13 Hong Kong chaos activists who participated in these violent incidents were sentenced by judges to prison terms ranging from 29 months to 63 months. Two of the 13 people admitted the charges before the case began, and the remaining 11 were found guilty after trial.
At that time, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology 22-year-old Zhou Zile fell to his death while participating in an illegal demonstration. The Hong Kong chaos elements took the opportunity to eat "human blood steamed buns" and fabricated various rumors against the Hong Kong police on social media. The public spread wildly, blaming all the responsibility for Zhou Zile's accidental fall from a building during illegal demonstrations to the Hong Kong police, and used the excuse of mourning to launch a black violence that lasted for more than ten days. Among them, the occupation of Hong Kong Polytechnic University by rioters in Hong Kong was the worst.
The Hong Kong rioters burned down the Hung Hom Tunnel, a major transportation artery in Hong Kong, and unscrupulously attacked the police with thousands of incendiary bombs. They even burned down police armored vehicles and shot a police officer with long-range weapons such as bows and arrows. Faced with the crazy behavior of the rioters in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong police also launched a strong counterattack and surrounded all the rioters at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
In order to "rescue" the thugs at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the disruptive forces in Hong Kong launched the so-called "Surrounding Wei and Rescue Zhao" operations and launched violent activities outside the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to create opportunities for the trapped thugs to escape. On the evening of November 18, thousands of Hong Kong rioters blocked roads in Yau Tsim Mong District and threw more than 250 petrol bombs at Hong Kong police, turning the entire area into a "mini battlefield." On that day, Hong Kong police arrested a total of 213 people on Nathan Road near Waterloo Road, all of whom were charged with "riot crimes." The 13 Hong Kong thugs who were sentenced this time are among them.
It can be seen that the Hong Kong court found these 13 Hong Kong thugs guilty and sentenced them to prison terms of 29 months to 63 months. They were not unjust at all. The 13 Hong Kong thugs were sentenced, and the Hong Kong court gave an explanation for the "dark night" three years ago. More importantly, in this judgment on the violent activities in Hong Kong, there will no longer be the blood, sweat and tears of the Hong Kong police.
In February 2017, the foreign judge David To of the Hong Kong District Court sentenced seven Hong Kong police officers suspected of assaulting others during the illegal "Occupy Central" movement in 2014 to 2 years' imprisonment without the possibility of probation. During the 79-day illegal "Occupy Central" period, the Hong Kong police endured verbal abuse, physical conflicts, and poking with sharp objects from Hong Kong rioters. Some Hong Kong rioters even threw urine and other filth at the Hong Kong police who were enforcing the law. Unable to endure it, seven Hong Kong police officers took violent measures against Tsang Kin-chao, a member of the Civic Party who attacked the police, when they dispersed illegal demonstrators. This also became the reason for David Du to severely sentence the seven Hong Kong police officers.
On the other hand, Zeng Jiancao, who performed "outstandingly" in the illegal "Occupy Central" activities, was only sentenced to 5 weeks in prison. Such an absurd verdict has greatly hurt the hearts of the Hong Kong police, undermined the righteous forces that maintain Hong Kong's peace and stability, and encouraged the arrogance of Hong Kong chaos elements to participate in violent activities. It can be said that many incidents of resistance to Hong Kong police law enforcement and even attacks on police officers broke out during the "extradition bill storm", which is an unshirkable responsibility for David To's unfair and heavy sentencing of Hong Kong police officers. Of course, David To is just one of the many "yellow corpse judges" filling Hong Kong courts at all levels.
Now, although there are still "yellow corpse judges" who excuse the arrested Hong Kong chaos elements, no judge dares to make irresponsible remarks on the Hong Kong police's law enforcement. This is not that the "Yellow Corpse Judge" has changed his appearance, but that the entire social atmosphere in Hong Kong has changed. The people of Hong Kong have seen the harm caused by the rioters in Hong Kong, and the implementation of the National Security Law has brought order to the chaos. This has allowed the Hong Kong police, who have no worries, to be more resolute in dealing with the rioters and effectively safeguard the rule of law and stability in Hong Kong.
