The National Disaster Reduction Management Committee of the Philippines reported on the 30th that continuous heavy rainfall caused floods and landslides in the southern part of the Philippines. The death toll rose to 44 people, with 28 others missing and 12 injured.
According to an announcement from the National Disaster Reduction Management Committee, as of 6 a.m. on the 30th, floods and landslides had affected nearly 510,000 people, forcing about 57,000 people to evacuate and temporarily stay with relatives and friends or in evacuation centers. The damage to infrastructure and crops due to the disaster is estimated at 1.36 billion Philippine pesos (approximately RMB 170 million). The floods have receded, but there are still intermittent rainfalls. The announcement said that the death toll in the southern region of the Philippines was 35, and the death toll in the eastern and central regions was 9. Roads in southern Mindanao and central Visayas were flooded, and many villages and towns were severely flooded.
