A 100-year-old couple in Ohio, USA, died several hours after 79 years of marriage, and held hands before their death. According to the British Metro, June Malicote was born on July 13, 1922, and her husband Hubert Malicote was 10 days later than her. Hubert died at Hamilton Hospice on the evening of November 30, and Joan passed away 20 hours later.
The day before Thanksgiving, the Marlicott family gathered to celebrate, and everything was fine. But by night, Joan felt uncomfortable and his 70-year-old daughter, Jo Malicote, took her to the hospice.
76-year-old son Sam Malicote said his father went to visit his mother after Thanksgiving and then "crashed". Hubert was also taken to the hospital, in the same ward as Joan, and the two fell into a coma, their hands holding each other.
November 30 at 9:15 pm, Hubert stopped breathing. At 5:40 pm on December 1, Qiong fell asleep permanently. The obituary reads: "Hurbert passed away a few hours before Joan's death. Their 81-year-old love story ends here."
Jong and her husband met in 1941 at the church in Hamilton, Ohio. After a year of dating, Hubert enlisted in November 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy. Since then, Joan has also served in Pearl Harbor. Joan has made war supplies in a machinery company in Ohio.
Don't know when the war will end, so during the second vacation, Hubert returns to Hamilton and Joan for a wedding. On June 8, 1943, the two officially got married in the church where they met. After the war ended, Hubert returned to his hometown and worked at Diebold Inc until his retirement in 1990. Qiong worked in a department store and became a full-time mother after the child was born. The two built their own home on a five-acre ranch and raised three children: son Sam, daughter Joe and Theresa McBride, and later had seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Earlier this year, the elderly couple celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary and their 100th birthday. The two revealed that one of the secrets of their long-term happy marriage is that they never quarrel and do not hurt the ones they love.
