People's Daily Beijing, October 23 (Reporter Zhao Jian) "I and other foreign journalists witnessed the opening ceremony of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Great Hall of the People . On the rostrum, Xi Jinping told the delegates, 1.4 billion Chinese people and the world with his calm and firm voice..." Recalling the scene on the day of the meeting, Gustavo Wu, editor-in-chief of the Argentina "Contemporary" magazine, said that he admired the foresighted political views of the Chinese national leaders at the scene and felt the vigorous power of the Chinese people towards socialist modernization.

Gustavo Wu has been following the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China a few months ago. He believes that as one of the most influential countries in the world, China plays an important role in the direction of the global economy and is gradually participating in the global decision-making process; the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China determines China's development direction in the next few years.
When listening to the Twenty Top 20 reports at the conference, Gustavo’s most concerned content was adhering to socialism with Chinese characteristics . In his opinion, it is precisely the adherence to socialism with Chinese characteristics that makes China indestructible. The report emphasizes the need to uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China and adhere to China's own path, which Gustavo believes is very important.
In 2011, Gustavo and his colleagues founded the magazine "Contemporary", dedicated to cultural exchanges between China and Argentina. In more than ten years, he has visited China six times and conducted in-depth research. In Tibet, he witnessed the Chinese government's respect and protection of the lifestyle of Tibetan people; in Yushu, Qinghai, he learned a lot of work done by the local government for post-earthquake reconstruction. These experiences were recorded one by one by one by him, and he wrote books such as "China: Beyond Poverty" and "10,134 kilometers of traveling through China", allowing more Argentinians to understand China.
As a senior journalist, Gustavo believes that the description of real China and Western stigma is very different. "The image of China I see in China is completely opposite to the very low-level stigmatized descriptions of Western media. China is a great diversified country that includes the diversity of the times, nationality, landscape, and lifestyles," Gustavo said.
In Gustavo's eyes, "The Chinese people are welcoming and treat friends like family." He observed that China's social development achievements have quickly become a part of people's lives, and people have even become accustomed to new things. "I feel that there is an irresistible force in the soul of the Chinese, that is, always committed to self-progress."
