Oil resources are called the "blood" of industry and also called "black gold". Every little change in the international oil market will attract the attention of all countries. I believe everyone understands the importance of oil. Russia is a country with abundant mineral resources, especially oil and natural gas resources. It can export a large amount of oil to the outside world every year. As a major oil-consuming country, my country has close oil cooperation with Russia all year round, but the price is not cheap every time. Now, Russian Petroleum is finally "discounted". Logically speaking, PetroChina should be buying a large amount of money, but what is surprising is that PetroChina is not moved at all. What is going on? What is the truth behind it?

Since February this year, European countries have reduced their oil and natural gas imports to Russia, which has also caused a blow to Russia's oil and natural gas export industry. Russia has had to lower its prices to sell domestic oil, enhance its product competitiveness, and alleviate economic losses. In the oil discount information center released by Uruguay , the oil sold this time will be reduced by US$70.52 per barrel compared to the previous price, which means that each barrel of oil can be 473 yuan cheaper. Compared with the normal oil prices in the international world, Russian oil prices are enough to make all countries excited, and they are even more tempting to a large oil-consuming country like us.

But unexpectedly, when facing Russian low-priced oil, PetroChina said it would follow the agreement in the trade order, conduct normal trade with Russia, and will not purchase discounted oil. This made many people wonder, is it because Russia's discounted oil quality is not good? But Uruguayan oil has always been a high-quality oil, so how can there be a problem of poor quality? From this point of view, there must be other reasons why PetroChina politely refuses Russia to discount oil.

The first point is to maintain the trade balance between my country and Russia. What you don’t know is that we often sign trade agreements during foreign trade, and some provisions in the agreement will largely limit some of our decisions. If we purchase Russian low-priced oil without authorization, will the oil we purchased in our original order be wasted? This is a problem. Some people say that we can store this oil, but what we don’t know is that we have no extra places to continue to store, because the stored oil has reached its limit and we will not easily use the stored oil.

The second point is that it is too troublesome. Importing oil is not as simple as everyone thinks. The oil production area in our original order is different from the low-priced oil production area in Russia, so it is a big problem in transportation. It is impossible for us to build an oil and gas pipeline because of this oil price reduction. The troubles encountered during transportation and the expenses required may exceed the original oil price. In this way, we can understand the decision of PetroChina.

don’t need to be lost, because even if Russia’s low-priced oil is imported, domestic oil prices will not be reduced because this amount of oil can be said to be very small for the amount of oil that my country needs to import every year. Therefore, even if we import these low-priced oil, we will not save much money in a macro sense. On the contrary, the energy we have to put in can make us eat a pot.
