Telstra company Optus apologizes for infringing on user privacy for using photos of Australian male driver's license without permission

It is reported that everyone can see a scanned copy of his driver’s license on Optus’s official website. Although some key information has been smeared out, his name, bust and date of birth are still visible.

Green said that after moving to Melbourne, he changed his Victorian driver's license. In order to miss, upload the scanned copy of South Australia driver's license to the blog.

He contacted Optus on Twitter.

Optus told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that this photo was indeed used without permission and has been deleted. A spokesperson for

Optus said: “Although Green’s driver’s license photo is public on his blog, we did use it without his permission.” After complaining,

Green received a letter of apology from Optus. And was told to investigate the matter.

Now, Green is very worried about privacy issues on the Internet. He said: "Optus has always been proud of protecting user privacy. This is not a good sign."
