Bailongjiang Water Diversion Project is a large-scale cross-basin water resource allocation that diverts water from the upper reaches of Bailongjiang River, a tributary of Jialing River, to supply water to Tianshui City, Pingliang City, Qingyang City, and 4 cities and 24 counties (districts) in Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. The project is in line with the "Comprehensive Plan for the Yangtze River Basin" and "Comprehensive Plan for the Yellow River Basin", and has been included in the list of 150 major water conservancy projects that the country has promoted in the past three years. The engineering design level year is 2040, and the designed multi-year average water transfer volume is 774 million cubic meters, benefiting a total population of approximately 9.55 million people.
