"China, My Second Hometown: Oral by the Former Palestine Ambassador to China Mustafa Safazhini" is one of the "Oral Records of Alumni of Peking University New China in China" which describes Mu Mr. Staffa's life experience and career achievements since he entered Peking University in the 1970s, as well as the unforgettable relationship with Peking University.
Mustapha Saphariny, Palestinian nationality, studied Chinese and history at Peking University from 1971 to 1976, and studied for a master's degree in the Department of International Politics at Peking University from 1978 to 1984, from 1988 to 1990 In the year he studied for a doctorate degree in the department. Mustafa Safazhni has been engaged in diplomatic work for a long time and served as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to China from 1992 to 2002. He is currently the director of the Arab Information Exchange Center and teaches in the Arabic Department of Peking University School of Foreign Languages.
In October 1971, I went to the Great Hall of the People to attend a National Day reception hosted by the Chinese government. At this reception, I met Premier Zhou Enlai for the first time. Later, I saw him many times on similar occasions. In my memory, Premier Zhou Enlai was very friendly and sincere. Every time the banquet was going on, he would toast to everyone around all the tables, drink a little wine, welcome the guests and say a few words to them. So I want to say that Zhou Enlai is a great prime minister, and also a prime minister respected and loved by all the people of Asia and Africa, a very humble and great leader. When Premier Zhou Enlai spoke to me, I did not think he was a leader, only that he was a kind and simple elder.
When I attended the National Day reception, I did not understand Chinese. The translator from our representative office helped me. At that time, I was about to return to the front line. In the letter to my leader, I said that China is very friendly, but I am not used to it. I can’t speak Chinese and I don’t want to be a diplomat. Premier Zhou Enlai walked to the table where I was, and learned through an interpreter that I was a Palestinian diplomat working in the Beijing Office of the Palestine Liberation Organization and wanted to go back to the Palestinian front. I also mentioned Chairman Arafat and the friendly relations between China and Pakistan. Premier Zhou Enlai told me that you should use the opportunity in China to study in depth. Learning the Chinese language is also very important. Chinese can be used as a bridge between China and Palestine. In fact, I also agree with his suggestions on language learning, and I also like learning Chinese. In the year I came to China for the first time, I also learned a few words of Chinese, and I also had a certain understanding of China and Chinese culture. This is the first reason I entered Peking University to study Chinese. It was at this banquet that after listening to Premier Zhou Enlai's words, I decided to stay in China and study Chinese while working.
Now I am an old man who is nearly seventy years old, and I can still contribute my modest effort to China-Arab relations. This is especially thanks to the beloved Premier Zhou Enlai. It was with his encouragement that I made up my mind to work hard. learn Chinese.

Soon after I entered Peking University to study, some foreign students came to Yanyuan. My Vietnamese classmate told me that among these new international students, one of them is a girl from Laos, her name is Solada, and she is studying English in the Department of Spanish. This girl is very beautiful and speaks Chinese very well.
She and I gradually became good friends, and then we began to fall in love with her.
She and I spent a very good time at Peking University. Together, we went to factories and rural areas to participate in labor and ideological education activities, and together we participated in tours and visits to historical sites specially organized for foreign students. In this process, our relationship has also continued to heat up. Whenever I participated in a school football match, she would be there to watch and cheer for me.

After more than a year of love, our studies have not been affected, but we all get the motivation of hard work and progress from love. After achieving the academic success that we expected, we decided to go further in love and move towards building a happy nest of children where we can have children, and working hard to build a bridge between the two peoples. Go down. On the beautiful campus of Peking University, we often strolled along the shore of Weiming Lake, a place that we will never forget. Every tree, every stone there, even the fishes playing in the lake, the birds standing on the branches, and even the sweet air, all witnessed our loyal love to each other.

The origin of my lectures at Peking University is my study in China Closely related to work. Now I teach spoken language courses for students majoring in Arabic at Peking University Foreign Language School, mainly using Arabic to talk about Middle East issues and China-Arab relations. I have been engaged in China-Arab relations for a long time in China, and conducted research on related topics. The more than 40 years from the early 1970s to the present is the most important stage in the development of China-Arab relations, and I was studying and working in China at this stage. In fact, it can be traced back to 1992, when I restarted the work of the Arab Ambassadors Committee and established the Press and Publicity Committee. This committee has been in operation until now, and I have been the chairman of the committee. In order to better promote the development of Sino-Arab cultural relations and other fields, I have made many suggestions to the Committee of Ambassadors. One of them is to arrange for an Arab ambassador to give lectures to students majoring in Arabic at a more important university every month. The content is to introduce the situation of the country or the bilateral relationship with China, involving political, economic, cultural and other fields. Through such lectures, not only can students improve their Arabic listening skills, but also help them understand the bilateral relations between China and Arab countries. If the ambassador of each country can speak once, twice or even more times, it will definitely be of great help to teachers and students majoring in Arabic. After all, learning Arabic is to be able to participate in the work of Sino-Arab relations in the future, so language skills are necessary, but it is also very important to increase the relevant knowledge reserves. In this way, I was the first Arab ambassador to give lectures in the Department of Arabic at Peking University, and I started to give lectures to Peking University students.

Peking University is not an ordinary university for me. When I first came here, I didn't have much talent and much knowledge, and I didn't know much about the world, and it was very difficult to learn. At that time, in addition to fighting and guerrilla warfare, my mind was all about liberating my country. After studying at Peking University for so many years, I gradually realized that there may be better solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli issue than fighting. The main thing is to have a reasonable new international economic and political order, that is, to deal with this issue through consultations and dialogues. I changed my previous view. It is in China and at Peking University that I realized that force is not necessarily the only way to resolve disputes between countries or any international affairs. Any dispute and any international affairs can also be handled through dialogue and consultation.I think this is a very good and very valuable point of view.
