December 5, 2022 is the 37th "International Volunteer Day". In order to promote the volunteer service spirit of "dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress", the Duchang Town New Era Civilization Practice Institute (Station) has carried out a series of volunteer activities to continuously promote the volunteer service spirit.
1. Carry out the "Family Care for Neighborhoods" volunteer service activity. On December 2, volunteers from Furong Community, Duchang Town came to the door to wash clothes, cook, clean and tidy up the beds for empty-nest elderly people in their jurisdiction. They also reminded elderly people with high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and irregular heart rhythms to pay attention to in their daily lives. Volunteers of Furong Community conveyed their true feelings of serving the people with smiles, and demonstrated the responsibility of volunteers in the new era with their actions. They received unanimous praise from the community and created a good social atmosphere of "respect, respect, and love the elderly".
2. Carry out the "Civilized Traffic Persuasion and Safety" activity. On December 2, the New Era Civilization Practice Station of Xijie Community, Duchang Town launched a civilized transportation persuasion volunteer activity. Community volunteers worked as traffic counselors at the gate of Experimental Primary School during the peak hours of school and did their duty, and dissuaded and corrected traffic violations such as non-motor vehicles parked, walked on motor vehicle lanes, ran red lights, and traveled in the opposite direction, electric vehicles did not wear helmets, did not get license plates, crossed the road at will, and carried illegally. Civilized traffic counselors used practical actions to convey civilization and care on the endless stream of roads. During the repeated persuasions, some uncivilized traffic behaviors gradually improved.
3. Carry out the "Newspaper Enters Home and Culture Improving the Heart" activity. On December 4, volunteers from the New Era Civilization Practice Station of Xihu Community, Duchang Town sent newspapers and magazines to the elderly and residents with mobility difficulties in the jurisdiction. Community volunteers held newspapers in their hands, shuttled through every corridor of the community, delivering newspapers from door to door. For individual elderly people with poor eyesight, volunteers will also patiently explain the key content in detail in dialect, so that residents in the jurisdiction can understand the Party’s policies and policies in the fastest and most direct way, know the Party and the government’s concern and care for the people, understand the changes around them without leaving home, and fly the Party’s good policies into the homes of ordinary people.
