Sources revealed that the procurement plan for Saudi sovereign public investment fund (PIF) may be announced as early as this week, with the plan being worth $12 billion. It is also understood that Saudi Arabia announced last year that it would establish , a second national airline outside Saudi Airlines, which is part of the country's "Vision 2030" to diversify its economy and get rid of its dependence on oil. The new airline's headquarters will be located in the capital Riyadh . Sources said it is not clear whether Boeing will also participate in the new airline's procurement list.
