According to the Russian TV (RT) website on October 2, the Russian government has issued a decree prohibiting the transit of goods from "unfriendly countries". The ban applies to bilateral or transit goods transported by road, but provides exemptions for products in certain fields.

Russian media said that the decree has been signed by Russian Prime Minister m Shushin and was published on the official Russian legal information portal on October 1. This decree will come into effect on October 10 and will be valid until December 31, 2022.

According to documents released by the Russian side, companies from EU countries, Norway , Ukraine and the United Kingdom will not be allowed to transport goods through Russia's road. Russia said that the decree was a response to the above-mentioned countries' earlier restrictions on Russian truck drivers.

Russian Federation Transport Supervision Bureau said: "The transportation from 'unfriendly countries' to consignees in Russia will remain, but foreign trucks need to reload the goods onto trucks of Russia and Belarusian at designated ports, and then the trucks of these two countries will complete the subsequent transportation work."

According to reports, some goods have been exempted from the law, including meat, fish, milk and other foods, candy, alcohol, tobacco and other finished products, and watches, musical instruments, recording and video equipment and other products are not among the prohibited objects.
