According to Yahoo News, earlier this week, during a campaign in Arizona , General Michael Flynn, a former US national security adviser in the Trump administration, warned that the governor may soon "declare war."
Flynn believes that "90% of federal agencies" should be cancelled and claims that the governor has the right to "declare war." He said: "Do you know the governor can declare war? The governor can declare war. We may see that."
It is not clear in what circumstances will the governor choose to declare war in Flynn's vision. The Huffington Post report pointed out that Flynn may recommend that the governor take such action if he is not satisfied with the election results.
According to the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the right to declare war, recruit army, and build and maintain a navy. In other words, if the United States wants to launch a war, Congress must pass a resolution in both houses and submit it to the president, who then commands the army as " US Army and the commander-in-chief of the Navy."
As Flynn's speech video spread widely on social media, American netizens were angry at him. A Twitter user mocked: "Is a state going to declare war on the federal government? Well, Mike, good luck." Another tweeter wrote: "This guy is also a retired general. I don't know why he was not recalled to the army and tried by Military Court ."
Flynn is one of the key figures in the "Russiagate" investigation. He twice admitted to lying to FBI and was pardoned by Trump on the eve of Thanksgiving in 2020. Like Trump, Flynn often makes some incredible remarks. He once claimed that the coronavirus was fabricated to distract people from the 2020 election. Earlier this month, Flynn accused without any grounds that the “Israels” were trying to change Americans’ genes and turn Americans into robots.
