According to Tass news agency 24, Russian Defense Minister Shoigu warned at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states’ defense ministers meeting on Wednesday that the United States is trying to break the current security architecture in Southeast Asia in order to ensure its global hegemony.
Shoigu said, “As for the southern wing of our organization (Shanghai Cooperation Organization), that is, Southeast Asia, it has also witnessed a series of complex transnational contradictions. Unpredictable developments have shaped some hot spots of tension. In order to ensure its global Hegemony, Washington is trying to break the security architecture of the region."
He pointed out that in order to achieve this purpose, military-political groups such as the "Quadrilateral Security Dialogue" (QUAD) and "AUKUS" are being formed.

Shoigu said: “Countries in the region are included in cooperation with NATO . Outside Europe, another front is being formed to contain China.”
He pointed out, “Only With ASEAN and other multilateral interaction mechanisms playing a central role, only by considering the interests of all countries and working together can we ensure the security of the region."
According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency, Shoigu also said at this meeting that the Russian army's slowdown in the special military operation in Ukraine was a conscious decision to minimize civilian casualties.
He mentioned that the necessity for Russia to take special military action against Ukraine was determined by the real threat Kiev posed to the residents of Donbass and subsequently to Russia. He also said that this special military operation "is proceeding as planned" and "all tasks will be completed."
