According to the Vietnam Legal Network , from May 24 to June 30, within one month, the Lao Cai Provincial Exit and Entry Administration of Vietnam received a total of 76 Vietnamese citizens who illegally left the country and stayed in the country. They were passed by the relevant Chinese departments through the Lao Cai International Port. Among them, 35 were residents of Lao Cai Province and 41 were residents of other provinces.

35 people from Lao Cai Province, living in Huyện Si Ma Cai County, Bac Ha County (Huyện Bắc Hà), Bao'an County ( Huyện Bảo Yên), mostly Mongolians. Most of the 41 people in other provinces are Kinh people, and most of them live in the Mekong Delta.
According to statistics from relevant departments, a large number of Vietnamese citizens have illegally left the country and are living in China. It is expected that in the near future, relevant Chinese authorities will deport illegal immigrants through Lao Cai or other border crossings.
