On June 30, local time, the United Nations Security Council held a public meeting on the Iranian nuclear issue. The Chinese representative said that the negotiations to resume the Iran nuclear agreement have reached the final moment. China calls on all parties to take active action, maintain rationality and restraint, and make efforts to reach a final agreement.
Zhang Jun, China’s permanent representative to the United Nations, said that since last year, positive progress has been made in the negotiations to resume compliance with the Comprehensive Agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, and the negotiations have now reached the final juncture. Under the current situation, all parties should exercise rational restraint and refrain from taking unconstructive measures that would escalate the situation.
In addition, China stated that it will abandon double standards and all parties should strictly abide by the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, including the cooperation between the United States, Britain and Australia nuclear submarines.

It cannot eliminate its negative impact on the political and diplomatic settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue, nor can it change the threat it poses to regional peace, security and stability. Such double standards and practices that undermine the goals and purposes of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons must be corrected to maintain the authority and effectiveness of the international nuclear non-proliferation system.
China stated that China has always been committed to promoting the process of political and diplomatic settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue, and will continue to uphold a fair and objective stance to promote the comprehensive agreement to return to the right track at an early date.
