Recently, someone discovered two monkeys resting on a Panzhihua tree at a fork in the road near the Ecological Park Community in Lushui City, and recorded the scene with a camera. After identification, the monkey was macaque . Macaques are the most widely distributed primates in my country.
macaque (scientific name: Macaca mulatta): body length 51-63 cm. It is a typical macaque animal. Its main characteristics are a short tail and cheek pouches . The body is stout, with an average body length of about 50 centimeters. Their forelimbs are about the same length as their hind limbs. Their thumbs can be opposite to the other four fingers. They can grasp things flexibly. Their foreheads are low and have a raised edge. The head is brown, the back is brown-gray or brown, the lower part is orange-yellow or orange-red, and the ventral surface is light gray-yellow. They live in groups in the woods and are very gregarious. The monkey king is elected through fighting.
In recent years, with the intensification of ecological protection in Nujiang Prefecture, vegetation has been restored in an orderly manner, and animal habitats have been effectively protected. The population of national key protected animals has remained stable or increased, and the visibility of some widely distributed rare species has increased.
