Chinese erine image captured by infrared camera
In order to find out the "family background" of wild animals and plants, in May 2021, the Tiantai Branch of Taizhou Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau commissioned Taizhou College to jointly carry out a background survey on the diversity of Tiantai wildlife. According to the technical specifications of county-level wildlife surveys, the project team divided Tiantai County into 19 survey grids. Combined with a large number of previous survey work, 80 infrared cameras were arranged in key areas and carried out 24-hour continuous monitoring.
After more than a year, infrared cameras have recorded images of a large number of wildlife activities. Among them, there are four national key protected wild animals of mammals, namely the national first-class protected wild animal Chinese pangolin , the national second-class protected wild animal Chinese erine, the ericorn and the leopard cat .
Chinese erine is a species that the project team has been looking forward to. Chinese genus mammals , sequels, bovine family , sheep subfamily, genus animals. Its individual is slightly larger than a goat, its fur is black or gray or red-gray, its long and fluffy gray-white mane on the back of its neck, its tail and limbs are thick and short, its horns are like deer, its hooves are like cows, its head is like sheep, and its tail is like donkeys. People call it "Four-Dislikes".
Chinese ericy antel data picture
"Chinese ericy antel has been included in multiple animal protection lists. " Chinese Species Red List " " Chinese Endangered Animals Red Book " has included it as a vulnerable species. This means that the species is in danger of survival in the wild. In the future, its number may further decrease in the wild state. At present, giant pandas are vulnerable species." Dr. Pan Zhixiang, head of the project team, said that Chinese ericy antel has records in Xianju , and this is the first time it was recorded in rooftops.
It is understood that Chinese erectus feeds on grass, tender branches and leaves, likes to eat fungi, often moves in the early morning and evening, suitable for running and jumping among the cliffs and rocks, making it difficult to shoot and record. This time, the Chinese Eripin appeared in the mountainous area of Tiantai County, and only one infrared camera captured its agile posture.
"Only one Chinese erine was recorded during the 16-month continuous monitoring, which shows that the population of this species in Tiantai is very limited. We immediately explained to the Tiantai Branch of Taizhou Ecological Environment Bureau to strengthen habitat protection in key areas, especially severely investigate and punish illegal hunting, hoping to jointly build a suitable ecological environment for wild animals." Dr. Pan Zhixiang called on that with the improvement of the ecological environment, the frequency of wild animals around our city and even in the urban area will increase. If citizens "encounter encounter" some large wild animals, do not watch or disturb them, and protect their good friends together.
