Lin Guohong, senior engineer of the Forestry Bureau of Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, said that the "white phoenix" in the video is called White phoenix , and the shooting location is located in National Nature Reserve , which belongs to Huboliao, Nanjing County.

Lin Guohong introduced that white squid is commonly known as "pheasant" in southern Fujian region , and "white phoenix" is an elegant name for it. White squids are national second-class protected animals and are distributed in Zhangzhou , Nanjing , Hua'an , Yunxiao , Zhao'an and other counties, with more than 1,000. White squid likes to live in the original broad-leaved forest , weighs two or three kilograms, usually walks mainly, and is not afraid of people. Only when you are frightened or avoid humans will you fly for a distance.
"In recent years, various places have attached great importance to natural ecological protection, and the number of white squids has shown a growing trend, which is indeed a good thing." Lin Guohong said that white squids are widely distributed in Fujian, and the number of Sanming , Longyan , Zhangzhou and other places is considerable.

White Squid is a resident bird of the order Gianniformis Pheasianaceae with a body length of 70~115 cm. The upper body of the male bird is white and has black patterns, the lower body is black, and the head is black. The female bird is small in individuals, with olive brown all over the body and white or skin-yellow stripes on the lower body. The iris is orange-brown, the beak is yellow-brown, the naked skin around the eyes is red, and the feet are orange-red. White squids often live in evergreen broad-leaved forests, bamboo forests and coniferous mixed forests, foraging fruits, insects, etc. under the forest, often in pairs or in family groups, and can form large groups in winter. The white squid is a male and a female system. Every April, the exposed part of the cheeks begins to grow during the estrus season, and changes from dark red to bright red, with lustrous feathers. When a male bird is courting, he walks around the female bird and swings his tail and hits his wings, making a slight trembling scream.
White squid camps in the depressions or grasses on the ground between the bushes under the forest. The nest is relatively simple and mainly composed of dead grass, leaves, pine needles and feathers. Each litter lays 4 to 6 eggs, which are brown and sometimes have white fine spots, with an average weight of no more than one or two.
