According to Zhang Jie, a member of the Shenzhen Wildlife Conservation Association, the rock heron is a bird of the genus 1 Heronaceae , commonly known as Black Heron , with a rare number and is a national second-class protected animal.

Dong Yi told Shenzhen Evening reporters that he likes to watch birds very much. He photographed rock herons in the Dameisha area a few years ago. A few days ago, I accidentally found Yanlu while walking on the beachfront plank road, and the next day, I took my camera to freeze the picture. "It's a surprise! It's rare to see the rock hem. Many people have come to watch these days. Yesterday I was watching birds on the shore and didn't leave until it was dark at five or six o'clock in the afternoon." Dong Yi said.
"This also proves that Shenzhen and Yantian have a good ecological environment, good water quality, many fish and shrimps, and citizens are willing to come by watching birds in a civilized manner and will not disturb birds." Zhang Jie said, "Birds are good carriers and important indicators that reflect a city's natural environment."

Yantian has always been famous for its beautiful mountains and rivers, and its ecological environment quality has always been at the forefront of the city. Chen Jie introduced that Yantian District is the first national ecological civilization construction demonstration zone in the country, or a "China Natural Oxygen Bar". At present, Yantian District has achieved the "eleven consecutive excellence" in the city's ecological civilization construction assessment. Dapeng Bay, where the Yantian sea area is located, was named the first "Beautiful Bay Nomination Cases" in the country. The birds' agile posture also brings vitality to Yantian.
Yantian District is taking the opportunity to create a core area of the global marine central city, and coordinates coastal zone and sea area development with the concept of integrated development of ecological life and production. It not only implements the entire coastline sea area governance project, strengthens the protection and restoration of characteristic resources such as beaches and coastal wetlands, but also builds a 100-mile coastal blue channel, creates an ecological corridor to the sea in the eastern part of Shenzhen-Hong Kong, and cultivates and develops marine carbon sink industry, forming a model of "beautiful bay" with intimate interaction between people-city and sea, "clear water, clean beaches, gathering fishing gulls, and harmonious people and seas".
