Modern Express News (Correspondent Wang Wei, Ding Ju, Reporter Cao Dewei) On the morning of November 15, monitoring personnel found traces of white spoonbill in the inner lake of Chishan Lake National Wetland Park in Jurong, Jiangsu. They live on the reefs near Moon Bay. There are 4 of them, all white, tall and elegant. They sometimes strode their long mouths like spoons for food in the water, sometimes comb their feathers, sometimes flap their wings, and sometimes sing loudly, which looks pleasing to the eye. Dozens of cormorants rested beside the white spoonbills, and large groups of wild ducks swam on the water behind them.
It is reported that the white spoonbill is a large wadering bird. It is named after its long and flat and wide mouth, and it is a national second-class protected animal, , and is also listed as a national bird of Dutch . According to the monitoring staff, they recorded a white spoonbill in November 2019 when they took pictures in the park. After 3 years, it was very exciting to record the bird species again. They very much hope that the white spoonbill will stay in the Chishan Lake wetland for winter this year.
In recent years, Chishan Lake Management Committee has been continuously vigorously promoting wetland restoration and protection, and the ecological environment has become better and better, and biodiversity is becoming more and more perfect. Every autumn and winter, tens of thousands of winter migratory birds come to overwinter. Chishan Lake National Wetland Park has gradually become one of the important habitats for winter migratory birds in the Qinhuai River basin.
