The first batch of wintering big swans have recently arrived at the Yellow River Wetland Reserve in Pinglu County, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. In the next four months, they will live here for overwintering.

Pinglu County Yellow River Wetland Reserve is the main wintering habitat for swans. From mid-October to March of the following year, about 16,000 swans overwinter here. In the reserve, groups of wild white swans are now wandering leisurely on the water. They sometimes comb their feathers and sometimes dance in the waves, adding a beautiful landscape to the shores of the Yellow River in late autumn.

Pinglu County was awarded the title of "China's Big Swan Hometown" by Chinese Wildlife Conservation Association in 2012. The Yellow River Wetland , which covers an area of more than 6,000 hectares in the region, is located at the junction of Shanxi and Henan provinces. The climate is mild and the food is rich, making it one of the main habitats for swans to overwinter. Up to now, thousands of swans have arrived in the Yellow River Wetland in Pinglu County.
