Animal classification: Arthropoda Insecta Coleoptera Cerambycidae White-striped longhorned genus
Morphological characteristics: Adult body length 34-61 mm, width 9 -15 mm. The body is dark brown or gray-brown, densely covered with gray-brown and gray-white hairs. The male antennae exceeds 1/3 of the body length, and the female antennae are slightly longer than the body. There are sparse fine spines under each section. Sections 1-3 are black and shiny, with engraved points and knobs, and the rest are dark brown; section 3 The length is about twice that of segment 1; sometimes the inner corners of segments 9 and 10 are protruding and have small teeth. There is a pair of white or light yellow kidney-shaped spots in the center of the pronotum; the lateral spines are large and sharp. The scutes are nearly semicircular and densely covered with white hairs. Each elytra has cloud-like markings composed of white or light yellow hairs, and the size of the markings varies greatly. There are tumor-like particles of varying sizes at the base of the elytra.
Life history and habits: One generation lasts for 2-3 years, overwintering as larvae and adults in the tunnel and pupa chamber. The overwintering adults bite a circular emergence hole and crawl out in mid-April of the following year. May is the peak season. More emergence occurs when there are continuous sunny days and high temperatures. The egg stage lasts 10-15 days, the larval stage lasts 12-14 months, and the adult life span is about 9 months. The clouded beetle lives on tree trunks and large branches during the day and has phototaxis. It feeds at night and gnaws on the cortex and leaves of twigs, making a clicking sound. The hosts are poplar, walnut, mulberry, oak, cork oak, willow, elm, ligustrum, sycamore, paulownia, maple poplar, chestnut, apple, pear, etc.
geographical distribution: domestically distributed in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hebei, Shaanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places. Current status of the
population: It is distributed in all management areas of Taishan , and the number is average. It has not been evaluated by IUCN (IUCN).
