Former Hsinchu The plagiarism case of Lin Zhijian's paper was regarded as one of the reasons for the Democratic Progressive Party's defeat in the "nine-in-one" election . National Taiwan University President Yu Zhenghuang even sued Lin Zhijian for defamation. Lin Zhijian also responded for the first time on the 28th, saying, "The results of the Hsinchu mayoral election are not satisfactory. He is responsible and willing to fully bear everyone's criticism and any opinions about him."
According to China Taiwan website , although the Hsinchu mayoral election has come to an end, Lin Zhijian was earlier sued by Yu Zhenghuang for allegedly violating copyright-related regulations. Recently, there has been new progress. Yu Zhenghuang also stated that he will sue Lin Zhijian for defamation.
Yu Zhenghuang's appointed lawyer Zhang Youqi revealed that after discussions with Yu and his team of lawyers, in addition to the original lawsuit against Lin Zhijian, he will also sue for defamation. Whether in civil or criminal matters, he will help Yu fight for his due rights. Among them, the case of alleged copyright infringement will be heard on the afternoon of January 11 next year.
In addition, in addition to suing Lin Zhijian, Zhang Youqi also revealed that the illustrator Xie Lisheng who originally insinuated that Yu Zhenghuang plagiarized Lin, the American scholar Ong Darui and about 30 netizens are also on the list of lawsuits.
According to Taiwanese media reports, the Democratic Progressive Party held a regular meeting on the afternoon of the 28th to announce a review report on the election defeat. It pointed out that the reasons for the defeat were not only black gold , public security issues, but also the failure to stop the bleeding in Lin Zhijian's thesis case in time. Lin Zhijian immediately posted on Facebook that the results of the Hsinchu mayor's election were unsatisfactory and that he was responsible and willing to fully bear everyone's criticism and any opinions about him.
Lin Zhi insisted that since it was his choice to run for election, he must take full responsibility, including taking the initiative to consider withdrawing from the election. Before comrades in the party raised the so-called "one corpse, five lives" argument, out of the desire to protect Taiwan's "democratic freedom" and unwilling to see society fall into meaningless mobilization of hatred, he had begun to seriously consider the possibility of withdrawing from the election. After several communications and persuasion, and with the joint decision of the members of the election committee, he officially withdrew from the election and returned to Hsinchu City to continue the auxiliary election.
In response to this, Taipei City Councilor Xu Qiaoxin from the Chinese Kuomintang left a message below, "Is this self-expression?"
Some netizens on the island also said, "This kind of indifferent article cannot make the public feel a profound reflection. Only by breaking up can we achieve a big victory! There is nothing to lose. Let's have a direct confrontation. At least we must first apologize to the supporters on the topic of the paper, and face it sincerely before we have a chance."
