Taiwan stocks fell more than 120 points in early trading today (29th), with the lowest reaching about 14041 points.
TSMC ADR fell 1.7% on Wednesday, closing in the black for four consecutive trading days, closing at US$73.06. The spot performance of Taiwan stocks was weak, falling by 8 yuan (NT$, the same below) to 443 yuan in early trading, breaking the 450 yuan price of stock god Buffett investment (commonly known as Buffett's line of defense). UMC fell nearly 1%, facing a battle to defend the 40 yuan level.
Berkshire Hathaway, run by the stock god Warren Buffett, revealed in mid-November that it had purchased TSMC ADRs in the third quarter. The purchase price was estimated to be in the range of 450 to 462 yuan. The legal person believes that if TSMC loses its "Buffett line of defense", it may affect the sentiment of bulls and in turn affect the performance of Taiwan stocks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 365.85 points, or 1.10%, to close at 32875.71 points. The S&P 500 index fell 46.03 points, or 1.20%, to close at 3783.22 points.
