He played 47 minutes against the Knicks and made 21 of 31 shots from the field, scoring 60 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 interceptions, and 1 block. He helped the team defeat the Knicks 126:121 in the overtime. Jason Kidd, the Mavericks coach Kidd) described Doncic as having reached the level of a legendary star and even created his own achievements and stories.
In the past, only Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor had set records of at least 50 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists in a single game. The "Big Three" of 60 points in a single game was only accomplished by James Harden in 2018.
Kidd mentioned that it is not easy to create an unprecedented record. "There were many outstanding players before him, such as Baylor and Chamberlain. He also reached that level, and then made a difference, which is beyond the reach of others."
Mavericks center Powell (Dwight) Powell also said that everyone knows how outstanding Doncic is, but he can always show a higher level in different ways. "Tonight, there is no way to accurately describe it all. It is really unbelievable. Doncic is different."
Doncic's epic performance today even convinced his opponent, Nick coach Tom Thibodeau, and described Doncic as a "monster" level player.
