Taiwan authorities leader Tsai Ing-wen will hold a high-level security meeting today (27th), and Taiwan's compulsory military service will be extended to one year. It is understood that after implementation in 2024, men born after January 1, 2005 will be included in the recruitment. Compulsory recruits will be trained for 8 weeks compared to voluntary service and will adopt strict training, and the salary of compulsory soldiers will be increased. The Taiwan military revealed that the above-mentioned extension of military service, in addition to salary increases, had actually been decided as early as November this year after the Taiwan authorities' defense department actively integrated the opinions of all parties. What is really controversial is the salary increase for compulsory soldiers.
