Chinese Kuomintang "legislator" Lin Yihua has confirmed that she will be transferred to the deputy mayor of Taipei City. She said yesterday that after the election, prospective Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan asked her many times to serve the citizens of Taipei. After careful consideration, she decided to assist Chiang in the future. However, considering that the "Legislative Yuan" currently has work, she will take office again in February next year.
According to China Taiwan website , Chiang Wanan announced the last list of "mini cabinets" before taking office on the 23rd. The originally vacant second deputy mayor was finally announced and confirmed to be the convener of the "transfer team" and the representative of the Chinese Kuomintang, Lin Yihua. Yu Zhenhua, the man behind the campaign team and a professor at National Chengchi University, will serve as the chairman of the Research and Examination Committee.
Lin Yihua revealed that Chiang Wanan consulted many times, and after careful consideration, decided to assist Chiang in building Taipei, promoting municipal administration, and serving the citizens.
According to the relevant regulations on the island, if the term of office of the Democratic Representative is less than one year and he resigns, there is no need for a by-election. Therefore, Lin Yihua considers that he still has a job in the "Legislative Yuan" and has obtained Chiang Wanan's consent to switch to serve in the Taipei City Government in February next year.
According to Taiwanese media reports, since Lin Yihua will only take office in February next year, only Deputy Mayor Li Sichuan of the Chiang City Government will maintain municipal operations in the first month of office. Jiang Wanan said yesterday that Li Sichuan can definitely promote related business smoothly during this period, and he is sure that Lin Yihua's familiarity with municipal administration is unparalleled. People familiar with the matter said that after Lin Yihua takes office, in addition to leading the future supervision of the city government's education and cultural departments and other related work, he is also expected to be responsible for the liaison between the city government and the government.
Regarding Lin Yihua’s delay in resigning as a legislator after the Chinese New Year, DPP spokesperson Xie Peifen criticized Lin Yihua for “exhausting all the agencies”, saying that this was Lin’s first term as a regional “legislator”. Not only did Lin break his promises to voters during the election, he ran away without even completing one term, and even forfeited the by-election, leaving Da’an District without a “legislator” to serve the voters for another year.

Kuomintang Taipei City Councilor Wang Xinyi is worried that Da'an District has long been a "legislator" of the Kuomintang member. Interruption will make the 2024 election more difficult and become a focus of attacks by opponents.
