From early morning to dusk | Hengshui Lake Garden Expo upgrading and renovation and Duck Theme Park EPCO project construction record###
In June 2022, the upgrade and renovation of Hengshui Lake Garden Expo Park and the construction of the EPCO project of YaYa Theme Park began on a sunny early summer. The space scene designers, product designers, interior designers, soft decoration designers, green designers, etc. of the Oya project team rushed from the office to the next stop of work - the construction site, where they met with colleagues from the EPC Engineering Management Center.
Here, people and landscapes, past and future, drawings and reality, scorching heat and the roar of machines are all dissolved in the blood of the project. From the desolate and chaotic beginning to the orderly ending, the ordinary story that took more than 100 days and nights slowly unfolded.

Especially when faced with a large-scale project like the Hengshui Lake Garden Expo, it is an inevitable choice for us to have designers on site.
General plan
The renovation and upgrading of Hengshui Garden Expo is an important part of the "Nine Upgrades" of the Hengshui Lake Ecological Culture Demonstration Zone. The renovation covers an area of 11 hectares, with themed facilities such as "Future Green Boat Avenue, Duck Adventure Island, Yuanqi Station, and Space Island" as the core renovation and upgrading content, rooting Hengshui culture and vitality in the site. The
project team upgraded the infrastructure of the Hengshui Lake Ecological and Cultural Demonstration Zone and built an intelligent management system. Through design, we can realize the construction of a tourist destination, promote the improvement of urban taste, support the high-quality development of , display the beauty of Henghu Lake in a diverse way, and create a comprehensive public welfare park in the suburbs of sports and health, parent-child growth, ecological experience, culture and leisure, and a multi-dimensional integrated public welfare park.

As an important part of the north entrance plaza of the project, the letter installation has the important function of enhancing the recognition of the site, activating the entrance space, and attracting visitor interaction. Its landing details and safety performance have become top priorities.
Therefore, designers have on-site contact with the production of equipment, understand the production process, constantly optimize the equipment gameplay, select durable and environmentally friendly materials, the equipment is uniformly produced in the factory and refined, and the lighting is hoisted and debugged on site to ensure the best presentation effect.

In addition, the future Green Boat Avenue area, which is mainly focused on improving the environmental style of the north entrance area, also includes the interior design of the North Entrance Visitor Service Center, traffic improvement in the North Gate Square, corridor renovation, ground paving renovation, waterfront wooden platform renovation, and smart sports interactive devices and other supporting service facilities.
With the completion of paving, corridors and letter installations, the future Green Boat Avenue has begun to take shape from its original desolation.I believe that as the plants grow, this site will become a favorite activity space for children and a very poetic entrance square.

, the hottest period of summer, high temperatures and heavy rains made the already rushed work site even more "in dire straits". Located in the center of the site, covering an area of 70,000 square meters, the YaYa Adventure Island area covers sand sports, high-altitude physical fitness, bicycle balance, wetland shuttles, and water training for diverse physical development training. It is full of busy figures.
The structure and shape of the Adventure Island gate and Yaya Castle high-altitude physical fitness development area are made of hyperboloid stainless steel , which is extremely difficult to process. The equipment needs to be pre-assembled in the factory first to ensure that it is correct before cutting, splitting and numbering, and hoisting and splicing on site.
has a precise process but a tight project schedule. Daily tasks are adjusted according to the progress, and workers have a short time to digest the drawings. This requires designers to work closely with construction workers in every link of assembly (hoisting, welding, grinding, and painting) to reduce construction errors. The designers controlled the site during the day and held meetings at night to write rectification suggestions to ensure the accuracy of the implementation.

The elevation error caused by rain settlement, mud cleaning of materials, site drainage and paving steel plates to increase the working surface have all brought huge troubles to later installation and cost control.
In order not to delay the construction period, the workers poured the foundation of the Duck Castle in the heavy rain late at night, carried the materials for the park gate in the mud, and wore gloves to weld the hot steel pipes that were exposed to the scorching sun. In the busy day and night, with bright lights at night, in the past two months of busy day and night, the 20-meter-high Duck Fort finally gradually took shape.

After design, the images of Hengshui Lake wetland animals and plants such as egrets, cattails, arrowheads, and lilies of the valley were enlarged. Combined with more than 60 types of high-altitude expansion projects and a variety of science popularization interactive challenges, a jungle network themed facility carrying the function of shuttling and expanding the wetland was formed.
faced the difficult problem of precise production process requirements and complicated on-site hoisting and splicing, repair and stitching, edge polishing and other processes. The design team guided the construction with precise design and worked together to achieve the goal. The egret shape uses parametric integrated number cutting, and the main body is structurally calculated through SAP2000. The fiberglass bird uses five-axis CNC engraving to turn over the mold multiple times. The designer worked closely on site to guide the construction, and finally achieved precise control of the landing effect.

It is a reed marsh area used as an extension of sand sports.The entire venue is themed with cattails, and is suitable for children aged 2-5 years old. The venue is equipped with equipment such as drilling and climbing cave mountains, jumping on clouds, and linear expansion of webs that focus on body touch.
Dongdong Mountain simulates the soil pores of cattails in the Hengshui Lake wetland. It was designed through Rhino modeling and 3D printing technology was used during production and processing. During the construction process, the designer strictly controlled the foam model of the laser-cut in the factory. After confirming that it was correct, the mold was turned over, assembled and painted on site to ensure that the finished product was completely consistent with the original design model.

Located between the north entrance and YaYa Adventure Island, the two buildings of Yuanqi Station and Space Island are located on the waterside, shining with the afterglow of the sunset. On the basis of the original building, through the renovation and upgrading of the internal space and external building facade, the abandoned space was transformed into a child-friendly Baishi Experience Center and Nature Discovery Garden.
Bright colors match the childlike space. Yuanqi Station integrates catering, study, entertainment, leisure, and cooking experience. With the theme of "edutainment, healthy dining", it sets up food science popularization, fun interaction, parent-child experience and other contents to create a high-quality carrier for the Hengshui Lake Baishi Experience Center in an all-round way.

Starting from the zoning functions, experience streamlines and site lighting, the entire experience hall is set up as a water bar area, main equipment experience area, crawling area, small ball paradise area, etc., and has an independent study space. From the design concept to the construction of the project, we have experienced constant modifications and attempts, and we have also made new explorations in the practice process. During the construction process, through constant discussion with Party A and the construction party, doubtful and difficult points were improved and solved one by one.
In the past four months, almost every designer on site has walked with the bright moonlight and welcomed the rising sun at the project site. All the hard work and difficulties seem to be vivid in the mind, but they have disappeared in the refreshing breeze of flying and landing in the jungle net and sliding down the duck duck castle slide. In addition to valuable practical experience, the Hengshui Lake project left us with the expectation and persistence of devoting ourselves wholeheartedly to design and strictly controlling implementation next time.
