But at that time, he was immersed in practicing and teaching, working as his teacher in obscurity, and seemed not to pay much attention to the movements in the entire martial arts world. In fact, some thoughtful people in the martial arts world are looking for him with great hope, or in other words, they are looking for that unique set of bagua knives .
Dong Haichuan, the famous Baguazhang personal master during the Wei Feng and Tongzhi years of the Qing Dynasty, left eight unique skills that vary from person to person when he accepted and taught apprentices. As the 39th disciple of Dong Haichuan, Liu Baozhen was gifted with unique sword skills. Liu Baozhen is also a student of Li Zhenqing, another master of Baguaquan. Guo Taishan from Taiyuan City is a fifth-generation disciple of Dai Longbang and a contemporary of Guo Zhenya. They studied Xingyiquan together. Guo Zhenya asked him to move first. In the Hebei Provincial Team, which is dominated by athletes from Fang and Cangzhou, Guo Zhenya became the main player. After taking a train all night, I arrived in Xuzhou at 10 o'clock last year. When we arrived at the registration location, Xuzhou Gymnasium Guest House, many people were still following us.
However, this Xuzhou battle is too difficult. Most of the athletes are gold medal winners in previous competitions. It is naturally no small matter for strong players to compete for supremacy. Moreover, the meeting stipulated that each person must perform three items, and a single performance cannot be performed on the stage. This is too harsh for martial arts athletes with single skills. Guo Zhenya excels in Bagua Zhang, Bagua Dao and Bagua Backhand Sword. These are all his specialties, and they are all unique. Those backhand movements: reverse thrust, reverse copy, reverse hook, reverse drill, reverse belt, reverse cloud, and reverse spin are rare in swordsmanship and have won praises from fellow martial arts practitioners.The method of this competition is to calculate the merits based on the total score of the three competitions. If you don't use your waist when working hard, it must be because your skills are not high. He pays great attention to waist skills. Guo Zunxin used the horizontal fists in Xingyi Quan and his piercing punches, but they all came up empty, but at the same time he stepped back and switched to turning palms. The second game was almost all about Bagua, with equal emphasis on defense and offense, using circles and loops, and frequent hand changes. Guo Zhenya hit the ribs with a lion head shake, Guo Zunxin used the golden dragon to maintain his body, and changed from passive to active. He hit the back of the heart with a backward lotus flower. Guo Zunxin escaped and changed his shadow, and the two became confrontational. Guo Zunxin used both piercing palms to hit his chest, and he used the leg-lifting lotus flower to save the day. Guo Zunxin used the Overlord to hold the tripod, and he used his chopping palm to split Huashan Mountain. In the third game, pure Tai Chi Sanshou is used, which seems to be offensive but not offensive, and seems to be defensive but not defensive. This is a contest of internal strength. In these three fights, they perfectly demonstrated the explosive power of Xingyi's straight and curved movements, the rotating power of Bagua, and the soft and strong power of Tai Chi.
In the summer of 1990, Guo Zhenya was running a martial arts training class in Gu'an. A man from Tianjin, who practiced Tai Chi and Bagua, insisted on competing in the hand-wrapping competition. Guo Zhenya's special Oolong tail swing included three sword points: lift, wipe, and pick. One wrist lift, two wrist wipes, and three leg picks. All three points were hit in one move. This man was so convinced that he had to learn. Guo Zhenya taught him. He was so grateful that he didn't know how to express it.
Since 1980, Guo Zhenya has held martial arts training classes in Gu'an, Langfang, Cangzhou, Shijiazhuang and other places, teaching hundreds of people. In the summer of 1983, Eiji Matsuda from Japan led a martial arts study group to Hebei, and Guo Zhenya went to Shijiazhuang to teach the group Baguazhang, which lasted for a month.
