November 16th to 21st, the 10th "Jacques Cup" International Welding Competition of the 2022 "Belt and Road" and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition was held at Chengdu Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade . This competition gathered 57 participating teams, a total of 211 contestants, of which 47 participating teams in China have 190 participating representatives from 15 central enterprises, 32 high- and secondary vocational colleges and related enterprises. The

competition opened at Chengdu Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade on the morning of November 17. Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and Chief Skills Expert of the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group Gao Fenglin , Director of the China-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, Wan Bin, First-level Researcher of the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau, Chairman of the Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Industry and Commerce Council, Chairman of the "Belt and Road" and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, Director of the "Belt and Road" and BRICS Skills Development Training Center, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Organizing Committee of the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, Wang Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chengdu Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade, and nearly 500 leaders, experts and scholars, people from all walks of life, and representatives from home and abroad attended the opening ceremony of the competition.

competition held the "2022 Intelligent Welding Technology and Welding Education and Training Seminar" of the 11th Asian Welding Technology and Application Forum at the same time. At the meeting, Dr. Mochamad Zaed Yuliadi, Secretary-General of the Asian Welding Federation (AWF), Mr. Rituraj Bose, Secretary-General of the Indian Welding Society, and Dr. Liu Zhenying, Vice President of the China Welding Association, and other experts shared the information on advanced welding technology skills, best cases and successful experiences in welding education and training.

After 5 days of fierce competition, the contestants performed their skills, showed off their unique skills, presented a wonderful event, and finally decided on multiple group awards and individual individual awards. The closing ceremony was held to 190 contestants from 15 central enterprises, 32 high- and secondary vocational colleges and related enterprises in China. Among them, the contestants of Chengdu Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade won 3 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and group gold medals, and were awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" by the competition.

It is reported that the "Jacques Cup" International Welding Competition, which began in 2010, has been successfully held for 9 sessions. It is known as the "Welding World Cup" by the International Welding Society (IIW), the highest international welding academic organization, and is currently one of the most influential international welding competitions in the world. Chengdu Industry and Trade Vocational and Technical School has always adhered to the concept of opening up schools. It is the first batch of pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education's "China-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Project (SGAVE)". It has introduced the British modern apprenticeship system and Germany's " dual system ". It has jointly created the "China-Austria Chengdu WIFI Vocational Education Training Center" with the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce Economic Promotion WIFI College, and jointly carried out the Sino-UK e-commerce professional education project with Lincoln College in the UK, recruited personnel from countries along the "Belt and Road" to participate in the "Chinese + Skills" project and actively cultivated international technical and skilled talents.
