Oriental Network·Soldier Field reported on August 3: Recently, the US military officially released photos of the B-52 bomber and the various types of ammunition it carries. The weapons and ammunition in the photo include both nuclear weapon and conventional weapons. The front is the AGM158 missile, and the center and next to the wings on both sides is the AGM86 missile equipped with nuclear warhead . Compared with the photos that can carry a large number of weapons and ammunition released in previous years, the amount of ammunition in this photo is significantly reduced, focusing on showing the US military's nuclear strike against and nuclear deterrence.

B-52 bomber was developed by the United States Boeing company , and was designed in October 1948, equipped with troops in June 1955, and stopped production in 1962. He once formed the strategic bomber force of the US Air Force with the B-1B Lancers and the B-2 Ghosts. However, the same aircraft has different lives. The B-52 is a subsonic long-range strategic bomber of the US Air Force. It is the only two bomber currently in service that can carry nuclear weapons in the US military. The B-1B and B-2 bombers will gradually retire after B-21 becomes combat-driven.
According to the US Air Force magazine in July, Lieutenant General David Nahome, deputy chief of staff of the US Air Force, said that with the B-21 bomber in service and the ongoing B-52 upgrade plan, the US Air Force needs to retire the two bombers B-1B and B-2A as soon as possible and use the funds for the first two projects.
At the end of September 2019, the US military said that it would modernize and upgrade 76 old B52s, including upgrading engines, upgrading avionics equipment and a new "digital backbone network". Its service period can last until after 2050, and some can even last until 2061.
B-52 bomber
B-52 has been continuously upgraded and transformed. Currently, the latest model B-52H is large in size, has a long range, and has more mountable weapons. It is often called "air bomb truck" and " air aircraft carrier ". The weapons that can be mounted include 20mm M-61 "Vulcan" six-barrel cannon; a variety of cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles ; Mk28, Mk39, Mk43, Mk53, B57 and other about 31.5 tons of bombs can be mounted.
Among them, all AGM-86 long-range cruise missiles are equipped with nuclear warheads with a range of more than 2,000 kilometers. The explosion equivalent of each nuclear warhead is as high as 150,000 tons. This gives the B-52 the ability to launch a precise nuclear strike at a long range without having to fly over enemy targets before dropping bombs. The B-52s in service are all used as an air launch platform, throwing cruise missiles outside the enemy's defense zone to strike.
