On October 19th at 5:10 pm, a loud baby cry broke the tense atmosphere in the operating room of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical College. A "red code" pregnant woman successfully gave birth to a 3,300-gram baby boy. Ms. Shi (pseudonym), whose health code
is a red code, is 39 weeks pregnant. At 11 a.m. that day, Ms. Shi suddenly felt unbearable abdominal pain and was rushed to the fever clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical College by the epidemic prevention and control staff in her community.
After consultation, Chai Qing, a doctor from the obstetrics clinic, judged that Ms. Shi had full term and had regular contractions and needed to give birth immediately. However, since it is not proportional to the pelvis, it is urgent to perform a cesarean section. Report immediately according to the process step by step, and received instructions to "activate emergency plan to ensure the safety of pregnant women and newborns." Then, the outpatient department, laboratory department, anesthesia and surgery department, general affairs department and other relevant departments were notified to prepare. The
emergency plan is launched immediately, and the admission and surgical preparation procedures are limited to the fever clinic to improve, minimizing the patient's activity trajectory and exposure risk in the hospital. Medical staff collected nucleic acids for Ms. Shi, filled out medical records, completed admission procedures, performed blood tests, skin preparation, gastric tube placement, urinary catheter, and preoperative conversations. All departments cooperated tacitly and strictly implemented various epidemic prevention requirements while intensive preoperative preparations, and all work was carried out in an orderly manner.
Because Ms. Shi is a high-risk person, in accordance with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the department still selected 6 medical staff with rich clinical experience to be responsible for it despite the tight staff.
After everything was ready, under the escort of obstetric medical staff, Ms. Shi went directly to the negative pressure operating room through a special patient's dedicated channel, and soon started lower uterine cesarean section . Medical staff wear protective clothing, isolation clothing, surgical gowns, protective masks, goggles, ... Overcome unfavorable conditions such as blurred vision, difficulty breathing, inconvenient operation, and successfully complete the operation, and the mother and son are safe.
The staff responsible for disinfection conducted timely terminal disinfection of environmental items, route sections and elevator cars in the operating room, emergency isolation and emergency room, and conducted nucleic acid sampling.
After the operation, Ms. Shi was transferred to the isolation ward. Medical staff accompanied her to isolate her and provided 24-hour special care, allowing Ms. Shi to experience a "VIP service" in this special period.
At present, Ms. Shi has recovered well and her baby is healthy. The results of nucleic acid tests for are all negative.
Under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, in the face of critically ill patients with "red code", the hospital insists on putting life first and patient first. While doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control and self-defense, race against time to escort life and ensure the medical safety of patients to the greatest extent possible.
