Bypassing the 2,000-year-old old locust tree next to the Beitai Shang Reservoir, and walking eastward, you will pass through various roads: first the patterned cobblestone road, then the stone slabs on the grass, and the carved road, and finally the brand new asphalt road. About an hour away, one of the 22nd Informal Meeting of the Leaders of the 2014 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting - Beijing Sunrise Oriental Kempinski Hotel .

"The roads here were bumpy in the past and there were no grand buildings." 55-year-old Li Ying and her husband Sun Hengshan often said this when they were walking.

For the couple, the land next to the old locust tree is the hometown and the countryside is hard to leave, so they often come to see it. The modern facilities before the building symbolize a new lifestyle and are a good place to invite friends to exercise and chat. Sometimes when they meet foreigners, they will say hello: "Hello!"

With the advancement of the APEC International Conference Project in Beijing, in 2013, the Baiyachang Village where Li Ying is located was relocated to the community next to Yanqi Street. She chose her new home on the tenth floor, opened the cold fog window, and could see the exquisite international community complex and the location of the old locust trees.

The villages in the past are somewhat nostalgic, but the floor heating and network conditions that now have make Li Ying feel that "the life is more interesting now."

The two thousand-year-old "Lotus Tree King" in the old village lives in the park

The remnants of Yanshan form a crescent arc in the southern part of Huairou, and there are many villages scattered around Yanqi Lake at the foot of the mountain. In the northwest corner of the lake, there is an old locust tree of two thousand years old. This ancient locust tree is the oldest among the locust trees in Beijing and is known as the "king of Beijing locust tree". There is a flat land in front of the tree. This is the former site of Baiyachang Village, and now it has become a landscape park open to the public.

The park is very beautiful. There are lawns and green plants on both sides of the walking path. You can vaguely see the water surface from the gaps in the branches and leaves. The birds on the water surface fly down from the hillside and make crisp sounds. Li Ying was wearing sports shoes and walked fast in the forest. When he saw an acquaintance resting in the pavilion, he would chat a few times: "You can also come to see the old locust tree."

For the villagers of Baiyachang Village, the old locust tree was a symbol of the existence of the village before. The torso of the locust tree has been hollow, and the skin falls off like a black iron block, and is fixed to the tree with tools. Every time Li Ying takes a walk here, she has to carefully look at the trunk, and finally look up at the canopy before leaving with confidence.

Sun Hengshan moved his home three times in total. In the 1950s, the country wanted to build the Beitai Shang Reservoir. His family moved out of the reservoir area and behind the old locust tree. In the 1980s, because the reservoir was about to expand, some villagers in Baiyachang Village moved to Yanqi Island not far away. Sun Hengshan said that this included his family, who was only 17 years old at the time.

According to Xinhua News Agency, in April 2010, the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to implement the Beijing Yanqi Lake Ecological Development Demonstration Zone project in the Yanqi Lake area, and build it into a comprehensive international conference capital with Chinese cultural characteristics, international first-class level, and a comprehensive international conference capital with large-scale international conferences and high-end business exhibition activities.

In order to cooperate with the construction of the International Conference, in 2013, villagers from Baiyachang Village moved to Baiquan Manor on Yanqi Street six kilometers away. Sun Hengshan recalled that at that time, town and village cadres worked from house to house. Although the villagers were reluctant to leave the old house, they also understood the necessity of relocation. In the end, everyone moved into the new community.

When he was about to move out of the old village, Li Ying bought a camera and took pictures of the streets and alleys of the village. Now that she takes it out, compared with the current scene, she found that the changes in the land in front of her were surprising. The gray sky in the photo is covered with spider-web-like wires, and the narrow village alleys are filled with uncooked snow and firewood piles of villagers.

Li Ying has an impression that the alleys in the village were rugged and people could not walk too fast, especially on snowy days, the road was frozen and the branches on the ground were frozen and stiff. If you were not careful, it would hurt to fall on the ground; and in summer, flying insects in the firewood piles would come out and sting pedestrians on the road in groups.

The villagers of Baiyachang Village have feelings for the old locust tree. "Now, the land of the old locust tree has become a park. There are sidewalks built around the tree, and protection signs are hung. People in Baiyachang Village think about it, so you can come and have a look. The old village has moved away, which is not only a good thing for people, but also a good thing for trees." She sighed.

bid farewell to the cold days of burning coal in winter, and grow flowers and embroider the text in the floor heating room

The winter in Beijing is dry and cold. Li Ying looked at the old house in the photo: a wall made of red bricks, with a layer of black tiles tightly covered with black tiles. In front of the doors of almost every household, there were firewood piles covered with cloth bags or plastic cloth. "In the past, we burned coal to keep warm. The firewood pile outside the door was used to set fire to coal, and some families also used firewood piles to cook rice."

She kept a photo taken on October 15, 1992. In the picture, a young man in a sweater was sitting on an old sofa, picking up the bowls and chopsticks on the coffee table to eat, and a kettle was placed on the ground. "It's very cold from October to October. And at that time, many people's windows in our village were not glass, but were covered with a layer of window paper. When it was cold, people had to burn the kang in the house, otherwise they would tremble."

Now, in autumn, Li Ying is used to wearing a collared shirt, black casual pants and white sneakers in a house equipped with floor heating. The temperature difference between morning and evening is large. In the morning, she waters flowers and practices calligraphy on the balcony, and sometimes does some handicrafts. She spent more than a month to complete the five-character cross-stitch with the words "Home Harmony and Everything Prosperous", and hanged the finished works on the most conspicuous wall of the living room in the home. Her wife praised her directly to outsiders, "She is skillful in her hand, her embroidered characters look good, and her characters are also beautiful."

Li Ying likes old photos and also likes taking photos. She puts the old photos at home under the transparent tablecloth on the dining table, and she can see the way her home looks like every day. "This little boy is my son, not very old at that time. I could hold his waist with two hands. Our bedroom is very simple. There is nothing else in the room except the bed and cabinets. There is nothing else in it." Li Ying leaned over and stared at the old photos, recalling the past days.

After moving to his new home, Li Ying saw a table tennis court near the community. The neighbors around him began to have sports hobbies. Some neighbors often took their children to the table to play ball with their rackets. "I also bought a racket at that time and learned to play basketball with others. I felt that I liked it quite. Later, my interest decreased and I didn't play again."

On the afternoon of September 21, Li Ying jumped on the stage for a while and passed by the table tennis court. She saw an old friend playing basketball. She was also preparing to play a few shots, but after a few rounds, she always picked up the opponent's ball. The opponent encouraged her, "Sister, your slap posture is quite professional. You haven't played for a long time, right? Just play a few more slaps." After Li Ying slowly got started, she successfully pulled the other party a few balls, put down the racket, and expressed her gratitude to her, "I still prefer to dance aerobics."

Li Ying commented that she is a half-introverted person. She doesn't like lively activities such as playing cards and playing basketball. She is more willing to dance aerobics with a few friends, or write at home alone. "My hometown is Cangzhou, Hebei, and it is the place where Lin Chong was sent. Sometimes when she is free, she will revisit "Water Margin"."

She never thought before that relocation would change so much to the people in Baiyachang Village. It turns out that during the slack season, the villagers who could only go to the street to chat and spend their time. After moving into their new homes, some of them grew flowers up and downstairs; some ran and played basketball every day; some liked ink paintings, and even paid for teachers to teach them, and gave Li Ying a hand-painted "Magpie Fighting for Spring", which she quickly hung on the wall she could see when she entered the door.

"Many relatives and friends have also asked what the impact of the relocation is. My most intuitive feeling is that we used to be villagers, but now we are citizens in the city." Li Ying's residence on his ID card is still Baiyachang Village, but she understands that for the land where the old locust tree is stationed, not only are the people who have reproduced and thrived from generation to generation, but also the work and lifestyles in the traditional villages.

no longer farms and relies on the weather to make a living. has provided more employment opportunities in front of your house. provides more employment opportunities. On September 21, the bell in the distance rang eleven times. After completing the procedures of scanning the code to register and temperature measurement at the entrance of the community, Sun Hengshan entered the yard and exchanged a few words with the gray-haired staff on duty, then went upstairs to go home for dinner. Li Ying told reporters that most of the on-duty personnel in the community were villagers from the former Baiyachang Village. Baiyachang Village, which has more than

900 people, has not abundant arable land resources. Only a quarter of the land per capita. Li Ying's family has a total of one mu and two cents of land. He planted a crop of corn and wheat every year. "Around October 1, he had to plant wheat, and a mu of land was less than a thousand kilograms. Corn also harvested in October."

"It is not easy to work in the field. Rural people rely on the weather for their income. We are not afraid of hardship, but we really can't make much money throughout the year. We didn't make money by farming, and we had a relatively small farmland in our village. Relying on farming, we didn't have enough to support our family, the village laborers had to go out to work."

Li Ying remembered that in the past, young people in the village wanted to build houses. All of them are covered at night. "When you go out to work during the day, you drive a tricycle and rumble a truck to pull a truck of bricks at night, throw your arms and build bricks, and work until midnight. But as soon as the sky is dawn, you have to continue working in the fields."

In 2017, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly approved the "Beijing Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center Construction Plan", pointing out that Huairou Science City should become a centralized carrier for comprehensive national science center , and build a world-class original innovation carrier area that matches the needs of the national strategy. Subsequently, a science city where more than 3,000 scientific and technological workers gathered and collaborated rose to the ground.

Li Ying's new home is only one kilometer away from Huairou Science City. Sometimes on sunny mornings, she walked along Jingjia Road to the outskirts of Huairou Science City, and then returned home. After supper, go back and forth along the morning route. "It's so beautiful. The roads are clean, the buildings are beautiful, and it's also a place for walking."

Ten years ago, the land in front of her was still a village covered with tiled houses and a wasteland full of thorns. She never thought that one day the doorstep would become the National Science Center that went to the world. Li Ying taught herself how to take a mobile phone photography. One evening, while she was walking around Huairou Science City, the sunset reflected a scattered light on the surface of a steel building. She quickly raised her phone and took a photo, "It feels very spectacular, just like a blockbuster."

In the past five years, not only has the International Capital City at her doorstep, but also Huairou Science City. Li Ying found that more jobs were released. Some of the people in the village participated in some service work in the Science City, and some villagers did greening work in the International Council Capital area. "If people want to work, they can always find work here. The traffic here is so large, which provides a lot of employment opportunities."

In the past, I only looked at the prices of grain and vegetables, but now I am also concerned about the "national affairs"

Three-quarters of the past 2022 have passed. Li Ying is sure that for her, there will be no other day this year as unforgettable as February 20. That day, the closing ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was held at the Bird's Nest. She was wearing a black down jacket and was waving the small national flag to watch the performance.

"When the audience sang the national anthem together, I really wanted to cry.At that moment, I was really proud of Beijing and our country. "Li Ying took a photo at the bird's nest. In the photo, her eyes were smiling in a crack and her arms were wide open.

Li Ying is a cultural member in the village and a party member. After she took the initiative to register and review by relevant departments, she became the audience at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. She told reporters that if it were in 2008, she would never imagine that she would participate in the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

"Who had seen foreigners in the village before? Now, there are many friends from other countries in our community. We greeted each other when we met. Although we couldn't speak, we could tell that everyone was friendly. "Li Ying is also a staff member of the community's epidemic prevention and control. She found that foreigners in the community cooperated with the community's work very well. "There is a song called "Beijing Welcomes You", and there is a good lyric in it, 'My door is always open, and my arms are waiting for you'. Therefore, only by communicating with foreigners with the mentality of making friends can we become friends with others. "

Li Ying said that when she was living in Baiyachang Village before, people rarely paid attention to hot current affairs in society. Regarding 008 Beijing Olympics , she admitted that she did not have a deep memory and did not pay much attention to the competition. But during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, she and her husband watched the Winter Olympics almost every day.

"In the past, it was inconvenient to surf the Internet and keep warm, and the village was relatively closed, and few people were interested in paying attention to things other than food, drink and clothing. It’s different now. Now the channels for information are more convenient, and the home is so close to the international association. I always feel that my thoughts must keep up with the times. "

In ten years, the world has changed. The land of Baiyachang Village once emerged with a world-class building complex. The villagers of Baiyachang Village have integrated into modern cities in the new community and opened up an international perspective. Li Ying believes that the development of the new era has changed people's definition of traditional rural areas. Rural people should not only live in new houses, but also actively learn new technologies and new knowledge, and resonate with the rapid development era. She firmly believes that Everyone will definitely create a better future.

When they first moved to their new home, Li Ying and Sun Hengshan missed their hometown a little. In the past, four people lived in the same yard. Although the house was simple, their daily meals were lively. Now, the couple lived alone in a house. Under the transparent tablecloth of the dining table, there was a line of words neatly copied by Sun Hengshan in black water pen: This place where you feel at ease is my hometown.
