Cambodia Siem Reap International Airport
After two hours of air flight, we arrived at Cambodia Siem Reap International Airport at 8:30 pm Beijing time. The time in Cambodia is one hour longer than the time in China, which means it is 7:30 p.m. My friend was the leader who took our passports uniformly and handed over to the border inspectors in Cambodia. She said that only by paying a tip of $5 per person to the border inspectors was able to pass through the border. It is incredible that such a public request for bribes was made. What kind of country is this? I can’t help but let’s find out!
Siem Reap International Airport Customs Border Inspection
Angkor Thom Model
The border inspection hall of the airport is placed in the Angkor Thom model, one of the top ten ruins in the world. This is the main attraction of our trip. Because it was night, there were not many people in the Border Inspection Department, and most of them were guests of the Chinese team. It is about 15 minutes from the airport to the Paradise Villas we stayed at.
elephant sculptures everywhere in the hotel
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, a waiter gave us a cup of pineapple apple juice . It was very delicious, but I dare not drink too much. The local tour guide is Chinese. He said that we must not get sick here. The hospitals here are divided into public and private, but the medical level is not high. If we get sick, it is normal to spend hundreds of dollars on the last hospital. We were alert after hearing this, but we dared not have diarrhea, colds, fevers, etc.
Cute elephant patterns can be seen everywhere in the hotel. The hotel has a swimming pool and the pool water is very clean. The local waiters at the front desk of the hotel speak English and inform the deepest part of the pool is 2.5 meters. I took my baby to take a free time and took a leisurely trip. There were no other guests, which was very comfortable.
Hotel Swimming Pool
Hotel rooms are good, clean and tidy, equivalent to a local five-star hotel. Local tour guide said that Cambodia is a tipping country, and most practitioners have very low basic salary, only 100 US dollars, and other incomes mainly depend on tips given by customers. Guests staying in the hotel will give 2,000 riel per day or a room of $1 to the waiter who cleans up the room.
Put down our luggage and we took the tuk tuk called from the hotel to the famous Siem Reap bar street and old market. The tuk tuk is the main means of transportation in the local area, which is the three-wheeled passenger motorcycle in our southern township. Each car can take 4 people, and each car is 3 US dollars.

The roadside can be seen from the Huawei mobile store from China, and I feel very kind! The bar street is very lively, with many foreign tourists and Chinese tourists.
Found a restaurant with coconut and sit down and have some local snacks. I found the only restaurant that paid with Alipay. The restaurant said "Lin Jinzhen" and it was probably a store opened by Chinese. I ordered the famous spring roll, which is said to be a famous local snack. After asking the Baidu lady, she knew how to say spring roll English. She told the clerk. He smiled and nodded, and ordered coconet. Fortunately, he could speak some English, otherwise he wouldn't know how to order food! The spring roll tasted really good, and a new shrimp roll was released inside! It’s good to eat with their sweet and sour dipping sauce!
Spring roll
I heard from my teammates that the local freshly squeezed juice is delicious, one cup per knife, which is not expensive compared to China. Before leaving, my friend told me that I would like to exchange some US dollars in the country, preferably one yuan, and locals who are more than 50 US dollars per bill are unwilling to collect it. A friend said that it would be enough for two people to exchange $100 for two people. Of course, it was not enough for them to shop wildly.
Departed from the hotel at 8 am the next morning and went to Greater Angkor Thom first, a 15-minute drive. We bought a ticket for one day, $20 a day, and visited Angkor Thom in one day. The time was a bit tight, so we definitely couldn’t have lunch break at noon. According to local regulations, tourists must go to the site to take photos and buy tickets. Each of us smiled at the ticket window, and the tickets were all printed in less than 5 minutes.
Tour guide asked us to wear the ticket on our chest for easy inspection. There are also three-day tickets, five-day tickets, seven-day tickets, and fares. Incredibly, all tickets for Angkor Wat are collected by the Vietnamese government, and the income from all tickets is also included in the Vietnamese's pockets. Many people around the world come here every year, and their tourism revenue is more than 100 million US dollars, but they are managed by other countries. This is really a tragedy without an independent and sovereign state.

Angkor Wat is a general term for Angkor monument groups. This is a complete city composed of palaces, temples, gardens and castles, and is the capital of the ancient Khmer kingdom. The difference between large and small Angkor is: Big Angkor and small buildings, but it covers a large area; Small Angkor is a large building with a small area, but Small Angkor is one of the seven wonders of the world .
Bayon Temple is located in the center of Angkor Thom, the capital of Siem Reap, Cambodia. When you walk into Bayon Temple, there are 49 huge four-faced Buddha statues. The Buddha statues have typical Khmer faces. What surprised the world is that these statues all have smiles. It is said that the smiles of these Khmer people are the face of Jayavarman VII, the god who built Bayon Temple. Each stone statue here has a different expression, consisting of huge stones and exquisite carving craftsmanship. In ancient times without mechanical equipment, most people rely on people to direct elephants to carry and complete these heavy loading and unloading work. Under the guidance of friends and tour guide, we finally saw the smile of the most prestigious stone statue - the Khmer! What’s amazing is that from all angles, you can see its peaceful and dignified smile, which is still so touching after thousands of years.
There is an Angkor Castle moat flowing for nearly a thousand years in the city, allowing this stone-built ancient city to convey silent sobs.
Cambodia is an ancient civilization with a long history. It was founded in the second half of the 1st century AD. It was the heyday of the Angkor Dynasty from the 9th to the 14th century AD. At that time, the country was strong and the culture was developed, and the world-famous Angkor civilization was created.
1863, Cambodia was successively occupied by France and Japan, and it was independent on November 9, 1953, and began in the 1970s. It experienced a long period of war. It was not until 1993 that the general election was held under the mediation and supervision of the international community, and the constitutional monarchy was restored. Since then, with the successive establishment of the state power agencies and the realization of national reconciliation, Cambodia entered a new era of peace and development. To this day, Cambodia has a huge gap between the rich and the poor, and the country is not rich, and it has long since disappeared from its former glory. Looking at a lonely stone statue of a divine beast in the city, I roared to the sky, as if asking why this prosperous civilization fell in the 12th century AD!
gazed at the smiling stone statues, the morning sunshine and dusk alternately reflected between the morning and evening, as if telling the world: the world is vicissitudes, smile. No matter what you have experienced in the past, no matter what is waiting for you in the future, as long as you can still smile, what the world rewards you must be a smile.
suddenly understood how stubborn and firm this ancient city, this stone statue, and the smile that travels through time and space are, how peaceful and peaceful it is, leaving us endless imagination. [Come on me]
