His teammate Botas followed closely behind in second place. Mercedes-AMG-Malaysia F1 team once again won one or two places. So far, the team has a total of 130 points, ranking first among the 10 teams.
Everyone knows that as the world's top racing competition, F1 is not only comparing driver's skills and racing performance, but also a high-intensity sport that emphasizes teamwork spirit. You can't make mistakes in every subtle link in the Pit room. Take tire replacement as an example. For an excellent F1 team, the fastest process of tire replacement is only 2 seconds from entering the station, refueling to changing tires. There are a total of 14 tire replacement personnel, and 3 people are responsible for each tire. During these 2 seconds, everyone needs to keep a calm mind and focus highly.
Of course, the Mercedes-AMG-Ma Petroleum F1 team has achieved such a good result, and there is another hero behind the scenes that cannot be ignored, that is Ma Petroleum. Moreover, with such a strong momentum this year, it is extremely expected to win six consecutive championships.
Just before the start of the F1 Shanghai Station, I was very fortunate to visit the PIT room of the Mercedes-AMG-Makery Oil F1 team at the invitation of Malaysian Petroleum. The so-called laymen watch the excitement, while the expert sees the trick. This time I came to the Pit room of the Championship team, and the technical managers of the team had the opportunity to chat and learned some little-known information.
Q: What are the main changes in racing this year?
A: Mainly due to aerodynamics, the front wing widened by 20 cm, which is more conducive to the rear car chasing the front car, and the corresponding height and width of the rear wing have also increased.
Q: Do you have confidence in winning the championship at the Shanghai station?
A: The teams and drivers performed very well in the previous two stops. Ferrari is still our strongest competitor, but I am full of confidence in the Shanghai station.
Q: How did the fleet move?
A: All racing cars, components, tools, tires, computers and food are transported from the headquarters to the destination according to actual conditions.
Q: Horse Petroleum provides lubricating oil, so what about other oils on the racing car?
A: All oil in the racing car is provided by Ma Petroleum – that is, all oil in the racing car, including lubricant, is derived from Ma Petroleum’s technology. The maximum speed of the engine of the
F1 car can reach 15,000 rpm. You can imagine how important the engine oil is to race cars. The staff told me: F1 racing oil will use high viscosity engine oil, and different formulas need to be prepared for different sub-station competitions, because different climates and environments in sub-station competitions around the world require lubricating oil of different characteristics to be matched. Of course, the formula and label of engine oil are the top secrets of each fleet, and this information cannot be disclosed.
For this reason, Mali Oil has specially dispatched an assistant engineer for the Mercedes-AMG-Mali Oil F1 team. His mission is to follow the fleet to compete in various sub-stations around the world and provide the fleet with a package of oil and liquid technology solutions. In other words, not only engine oil and fuel, but also all oils including transmission oil , brake oil and coolant are all developed by Ma Petroleum. Therefore, there are almost no weekends in the assisting engineer's calendar.
