On the afternoon of December 21, the 2018 counselor meeting of Tsinghua University was held in the auditorium. Party Secretary of the school Chen Xu , Party Deputy Secretary Xiang Botao, 1977 alumnus, former deputy secretary of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee, and eldest son of Lin Feng, Liu Xiayang, former secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China and son of Liu Bing, and old leaders Fang Huijian and Hu Xianzhang attended the conference.
Chen Xu's speech
Chen Xu congratulated all the award-winning counselors and expressed his gratitude to leaders, alumni and people from all walks of life who have been concerned about school construction and student growth for their long-term concern. She said that the "double shoulder" political counselor system is a representative achievement of Jiang Nanxiang's educational thoughts. It has gone through 65 years since 1953 and has become a very distinctive and extremely important system in Tsinghua's talent training, and has cultivated batches of outstanding graduates.
Chen Xu emphasized that as an excellent team that is full of sincerity for students, passion for work, affection for the school, and passion for the cause of the Party, in the face of new situations and new requirements, the counselor team must abide by the "three-in-one" educational concept of value shaping, ability cultivation and knowledge imparting, and strive to cultivate new people of the times who can shoulder the great responsibility of national rejuvenation. Chen Xu put forward three hopes for all counselors: we must improve our political stance, thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the National Education Conference, and contribute to the cultivation of socialist builders and successors; we must improve our comprehensive capabilities, highlight key and difficult points, and carry out our work creatively; we must always adhere to both red and professional and comprehensive development, and strive to be socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor.

Fang Huijian read out the list of award-winning teachers in the 2018 "Liu Bing Award" and awarded 10 teachers including Zhang Ga, a teacher from the Department of Water Conservancy. Xiang Botao and Liu Xiayang presented awards to the winning teachers. Cong Zhentao shared his thoughts on winning the award as a representative of the award-winning teacher and quoted a passage from Tao Xingzhi to everyone: "If you put your life in the lives of students and put your and the lives of the students in the lives of the masses, you will be considered as fulfilling the teacher's duty."
Liu Bing has served as the leader of Tsinghua University since the 1950s, and has made outstanding contributions to the establishment and implementation of Jiang Nanxiang's educational thoughts and cultivated a large number of outstanding students.Since 2015, Tsinghua University has set up the "Liu Bing Award" to reward teachers who have achieved outstanding achievements in the front line of students' ideological and political work, who are about to devote themselves to scientific research or management, and front-line teachers who play an important role in guiding and participating in student activities.
