In the recent "MuoTaiwan Master's Day", more than 1,400 boxers from more than 60 countries gathered in front of the ruins of Mahada Temple in the Ayutthaya city in central Thailand to attend the 14th World Muay Thai apprenticeship ceremony.
San Di, deputy director of the National Tourism Administration of Thailand, said that Muay Thai apprenticeship is an important part of Thailand's traditional culture and fighting art. Thailand has held large-scale Muay Thai apprenticeship ceremony for many years, aiming to show Thai cultural traditions of respecting teachers and respecting Taoism to Muay Thai enthusiasts around the world, so that they can gain a unique "Thai experience", and take this opportunity to exchange and discuss, and carry forward Muay Thai culture.

Norwegian boxer Gran, who lives in Thailand, seriously corrected the apprenticeship dance movements of three blond young boxers under 10 years old. He told reporters that he has been fascinated by this sport for nearly 15 years and encouraged his wife and children to study together. This time he took his whole family to attend the apprenticeship ceremony. He hoped that the sports spirit of inheritance, self-discipline and unity of teachers could be rooted in the hearts of children from an early age.
Muay Thai is a traditional fighting technique in Thailand, a sport known for its strength and agility. In ancient times, if Thais wanted to become boxers, they had to entrust themselves to their masters. Boxers could only accept apprentices after they recognized the students' character and qualities. After the ceremony of apprenticeship, the master teaches real talents and knowledge to the apprentice without reservation.
Thais believe that through apprenticeship, you can unite your master and apprentice, and make your apprentice more confident in mastering your skills. Through the apprenticeship, the apprentice prays to the master to understand the mistakes he may make in his future martial arts study and to warn himself to be strict with himself. In addition to being a warm-up before Muay Thai fighting and revisiting related moves, Muay Thai apprentice dance also serves as a reminder to keep in mind the boxer’s teachings and keep yourself clean.
Thailand will set March 17th of each year as "Muo Thai Master's Day". Every year, the World Muay Thai apprenticeship ceremony combines classical dance, battle elephant , and a complete set of ancient rituals, recreating the historical scenes of the Great City Dynasty period, allowing people to remember the glorious history of Muay Thai and not forget to pass on this skill from generation to generation.
